I'm on my way to bed, and decided to see who anwered what, to what. And they don't KNOW Peanuts.

I am going to write an historical account, of cartoon characters. and I think it should be made compulsory, in all history classes. Immediately and forthwith. When it is published of course.

I hope you do. I responded to your question about Peanuts and Garfield.
I love Charlie Brown, Lucy, Schroeder, Peppermint Pattie, and Snoopy, the red baron.

Please write a historical account. I will await this eagerly. But I really did think Garfield would make the better president.

Yes, I can. Not everyone is into cartoons. I believe one would have to possibly be raised in a home that subscribed to the newspaper - especially the weekend paper that has the 2 section pullout of comics to be familiar with the various cartoon characters. Even so, with the use of computers now, newspapers are becoming less a primary source for news and thus people are not exposed to the characters on the page.

I know lots of people who always thought it was just called Charlie Brown. For some reason, they never new it was called Peanuts. Maybe that was the problem? But then again, some people are just clueless and live in a bubble knowing nothing about the world around them.

sounds like a good thing. cartoons have influenced society for centuries. more so in the advent of daily newspapers and such. hope i get to read it. will buy a copy because i am sure there is no such thing. and i hope you bring it all up to date with everything. i would think that is a sure-fire winner. great idea, the more i think about it. it both reflects the current society and when you think about the old stuff like little abner and such, it makes commentary on just about everything from polictics to sex, and so much more.

Still enjoy reading the comic strip every morning in the paper. I know they are re-runs now that Shultz has died.
But Snoopy has always been cool. And I even own a pair of Woodstock earings. I love Pig-pen and his blanket.
How could you not know about the GREAT PUMPKIN!! And Lucy, pulling the football just as Charlie Brown is about to kick it.
