i would mainly like to know if there is some way in which to make it so that my service provider doesnt know how much i'm using the internet, i'm not talking about speeds, just how much i'm downloading and uploading.

You can't do that since the provider monitors your traffic at their end.

If your situation is like mine, your neighbor has an unsecured wireless access point. When they're not home, direct your laptop to use their wireless connection and put some of your traffic on their connection. :)

Alternatively, do some of your downloads at public connections like coffeehouses. Or get a better account from your provider or change providers.

It is not possible. The ISP knows your Internet Bandwidth.

As every ISP tracks that information differently, it is going to depend on which ISP you are using.

But generally, no. There is no way to mask that information.
