Normally any notice must span one full rental period. So, notice given on 25 September would be effective on 1 November.

I assume you are on a month to month tenancy. If so, the 30 days begins on the last day of the tenancy in which you give notice. That means if you give notice on the 25th, your notice is effective the 1st of the following month.
Good luck.

your letter at is conclusion or wherever should state .................
my last working day shall be on Friday 28th September 07 at the close of office business re 17:OOhrs
Look at your contract notice period, the notice period is for 30 days - then the 30th day is the last working day at the time your office / work location shuts / everyone leaves for home.
