I'd immediately pour some salt on it and dampen with cold water. That should bring some of the stain out. Then I'd cover it with 1001 carpet stain remover and work in. It won't be perfect, but it will be livable with. I've got a house which only has cream carpets, so am getting very good at clearing up stains. Time is of the essence when cleaning up such marks.

This might sound weird but lighter fluid might be good for it. Put it on the stain and let it sit for a minute or two then dap off with a damp cloth. Although you should maybe try this on a hidden patch of the same material to make sure it wont damage it

Salt in COLD water solution. Don't use warm water as this will "set" the stain. Leave solutiion to soak in for 10 mins then dab off with a dry cloth. Repeat until stain is gone.

This can be done. The longer it sets, the harder it will be to get out. There are some good tips on this link. It specifically talks about blood.

I think you should be asking why the blood is on the carpet in the first place.

There is a product I have used called Goo Gone. You might have to appy it more than once, but it works for alot of tough stains.

Try hydrogen peroxide. It has the same Ph as blood and it will dissolve it. Good luck.

I wonder what kind of NVQ are you taking...
Anyway, blood stain treat as rust stains too, using lemon juice should do it.
