Truth to tell we are so completely insulated that no soul ever comes into actual contact with another. We may stand in the apposition of friendship or be bracketed together for life in holy wedlock. But true contact is never established.

Even the most shallow or stupid of things or people, we can be happy and content because we are merely human...
sad to say...not all humans are shallow and stupid...therefore not all humans can be happy and contented.

I have no soul. I've seen the MRI. Any expectation of connection with my soul will leave you sorely disappointed.

I feel sorry for you that you have obviously never experienced a relationship where your "souls" do come into contact.
I cannot agree with you that true contact is never established.
This, I believe, is not something that happens when you meet in the street. This type of relationship can only occur when both people are completely open, honest and confident with each other - and this may take a long while to develop to this stage, sometimes years.
It is, however, something that you must want to happen. If you resist, or "insulate" yourself it will not happen. You must give yourself up completely to it.
I hope that, if you want it, you'll find it in your life.

That is sad. I think it's being unrealistic to think that we can actually achieve such connection being flawed as we are... Still, we can concede to the simple and tangible things. The lake doesn't have to be deep for us to enjoy it (Yes, I am "metaphoring"...). Even the most shallow or stupid of things or people, we can be happy and content because we are merely human...

Well, not with THAT attitude.
Truth be told, my wife and I have a symbiotic thing going on, where she's aware of my actions at certain times, even though we're apart. Same goes for me. We even have times where our subcocnscious energies will interact while we sleep, and share the same dream experiences.
Although, I admit that when I first saw her, there was a sense of recognition in me, and I was overcome with joy at seeing her (like I found a long-lost love or good friend).
It's weird, I'm sure. But it's the Truth. Stay awake.

True connections lye in mindfulness. One must be in tune with one self, mind, body and soul, before making a connection of this type with another.

I suppose that is the reason I think the concept of a "soul mate" is total b.s.
And don't even get me started on the subject of "holy wedlock".........
