If you can get the vehicle to the yard yourself they will pay you
Not much more than 50.00 here in Ontario

If they have to come get it, they may charge you, or you get nothing.

The other choice is to have someone that buys scrap to come tow it away. They will pay you depending on the price of scrap that week. Of course they make sure they are the ones making the profit

I had to pay to have the last car I scrapped towed away and that was in 2000. It does depend on whether the scrap dealer thinks he can get the costs of uplifting from sale of parts or not.

I live in Maine, and around here you can either give it away to a junk yard for free, or, most of the time the people will come to your house and tow it away at no charge, and usually pay you between 100-200 dollars, no matter what condition the vehicle is in.
I have never heard of anyone having to pay to scrap their vehicle.

I do agree that life used to be simpler. It is sad, but today parent's are protective because they have to be. Seat belts? Now we have more cars on the road and speed limits have changed, making crashes more fatal. Children can't play outside alone anymore? Now it seems we are living in a world where there is news of a child abduction almost every day! We have even created the Amber Alert system because abductions are so common. I agree that kids don't play outside anymore, and that is a result from TV and video games. I wish life was as simple as it used to be and the world was not so crazy. Times sure have changed huh?

You should never have to pay to scrap a car if the tow company won't pick it up and scap it and pay you some $ then you are getting ripped off.
