Homosexuality in cats is actually not that widespread. In mammals homosexuality is most common in gregarious species that live communally, and cats' wild state is fairly solitary. Both male and female cats do have gay sex but those individuals will also have heterosexual sex so they do not have fixed homosexual identities.
The reason your male is not interested is that he is not yet fully sexually mature. At six months of age he is the equivalent of a 12 or 13 year old boy just going through puberty. He may have shown some sexual behaviour but he is not quite there yet. Some males do not become sexually mature until 18 months to 2 years of age, so if he has started to show some sexxual behaviours he is actually an early developer.
Also he might be shy and might only think of mating the girl when you are not looking- people have been surprised this way!
Just give him time and he will get there.

Ha ha ha, bless him, he hasn't got a clue has he? He's a bit young but more than that, he's in awe of the older female! He knows full well that if he humps her, she'll beat the living s**t out him after ha ha. I've seen this happen and although its not nice for the tom, its quite comical the way the female goes about it! Just because he's not interested this time round, doesn't mean he'll ignore her the next time! Clever little sods cats are! Anyway, even if he is batting for the other side, he's still lovely!

Might be. It is difficult to say for sure, but such cases are common in the animal kingdom.I had a cat once that didn't have the remotest interest in females.Don't worry,I think the lady will find herself a boyfriend soon enough. If the male is straight and not gay, then it might be a plain case of taking the bird in hand,(the female) for granted

I doubt it. Some cats just aren't interested but that doesn't make them gay (to be 'gay' you'd have to prefer only males).
If his nose is clogged or he has an upper respiratory he might not even be able to smell her. Or her hormone level is a lot lower than you think, even given her response.

Yes, your cat is gay. Buy him some pink outfits and treat him like a star!
