I personally hope HD-DVD will win the war because for 1 its cheaper than blu ray. Everyone is so excited about blu ray holding so much but how come the Pirates of the Carribean 2 had to have 2BDs, in my opinion i think that you dont need that high of capacity for movies atleast until the next level of HDtv. I personally think that this Christmas could be a huge turning point in the format war, leaning towards HD-DVD, i say this because of the fact that the vast majority of people dont want to spend alot on single items and Blu ray is alot to spend for HD when HD-DVD is cheaper. I may sound like im totaly against Blu ray, but, I would buy it if it was to win this war. My suggestion would be to wait till Christmas and see what the companys do with the prices of players and discs, i feel that whoever comes out on top this Christmas season will stay on top and the other will begin to deminish, so just wait atleast till Christmas or day after Thanksgiving to buy. Ill be shopping hopefully day after Thanksgiving.

Blur ray is doing well as it is in the new playstation but the best thing to do is to wait a few more years and then see what the experts say and by then more dvd players will be able to play both and therefore it will be fine. i would wait no point in buying a dvd player now as there is no clear winner

no longer possibly simply by fact the 360 has had the HDDVD and have been out for over a 12 months longer then the ps3. No the reason being that the blu-ray is getting greater 'older' titles out the the HDDVD group.

i think blu ray is winning at the moment. LG have made a new player that can play both formats. it's called the LG Super Blu. Samsung are also working on a player.

Blue Ray will of course Only thing the price is little ridiculous at moment. The PSP3 already as we know plays them and there is a blue ray player and recorder by Sony out very High Priced.

I did hear, quite some time ago that there was already a green ray in development, which is far superior to both.

I'm going to wait till the dual format players are out, in themeantime I've no real desire to change from normal format anyway.

Do you remember video cassette recorders?
Do you remember that Betamax (from Sony) out-sold VHS at the beginning, just like Blu-Ray (from Sony) is out-selling HD-DVD now?
Do you remember how Betamax (from Sony) was the better format?
Betamax (from Sony) died.
VHS survived.
Take a lesson from history...

Way to early to tell who will "win". Formats are a fickle Mistress.
