I just adopted a puppy (6 mos. old), she was given frontline from the humane society...i am going to my first vet appointment this week...my friend told me that their dog lost a lot of fur when she gave him frontline and then she went to her vet and he said that he does not like frontline because he has seen that happen to a lot of dogs. My friend switched meds and his hair came back....has this happened to anyone else?? I'm wondering if I should insist on a different medicine?

I used to use Frontline for many years on MANY dogs, of a very chemical-sensitive breed. They never had any trouble with it, other than first day itching, occasionally. Now I use Revolution, and like it much better..Revolution also gets rid of most worms, as well.

I have two small dogs, a Maltese and a toy poodle. I haven't ever noticed any hair loss with frontline, but as the breeder said, I have noticed them scratching, and their bellies were red. It looked as if they were having a bit of an allergic reaction,

My dogs have never had a problem using Frontline. If your dog is on it and it works, I would not worry about it.

when I did use it first I found it really didn't work after abut 3 months on my dogs and I've heard this from many others.
My cat had a violent reaction and nearly died from it.
I would never use again and definitely advise against it
