Cappy is 4 years old and we adopted him 3 months ago. He is a perfect dog in all ways but this. He became my 18 year old daughter's dog immediately. He is well trained in all other ways but goes in my room and my bed! While dd was out of town he didn't go anywhere but outside but as soon as she came back he started going in my room and my bed again. She takes him out and he does his business, comes inside and goes in my room to go again. If my bedroom door is closed he will go in the hallway outside my door. He is crate trained will ask to go out and perfect in every other way. He won't go inside if we are in the room or can see him. He sneeks to poop in the house. HELP!! I am starting to hate this sweet, lovable dog! -

I thought I saw on one of those dog programs on TV that that sort of behavior is a sign of disrespect, basically. Pardon the expression, but it's like the dog is literally saying "P-ss on you" to you, like it's the one in charge.

I don't know what would be considered the proper way to deal with that situation, but you definitely have to put an end to it. I would be completely furious, to say the least, if that happened to me. Don't give the dog the opportunity to roam freely in "your" territory, and don't let your dd guilt-trip you into feeling sorry for the dog. If this was happening to me, that dog would never come into my house again, and dd would have to find a way to deal with that.

Sorry I don't have better advice for you. I hope you find a good solution for this problem. Good luck!

Cappy has to be told firmly that such actions will no be tolerated. Hold Cappy by collar ,take his nose to what he has done . At the same time, hit a rolled up newspaper on the wall so that a slapping sound emanates. Done a few times, the message will be received by him.
