hi i am 17 lost a friend my mom has a terminal illness i no longer talk to my father(deadbeat) doing two years of school in one(11and12) having a hard time finding a new job. we live in the ghetto very depperesed what should i do i am just so over whemled. plz help!!!!!!!!!

okay for the people who said to be a man i am one i supported my mother and three little brothers for almost a year working a mcdonalds making 5.75 an hour working 16-17 hours a day 9am to close 12pm working 40+ hours a week every week. so if that is not stepping up to be a man then i dont know what is. and maybe you should look up depersion and see what it does to a person!

Hospice i care about her i dont hate her and i do that what do i do with my three younger brothers sign them over to the county? and me 17 trying to gradute high school no job should i pay the rent with the money tree i have growing in my back yard? hello lets read everything before we answer! thank you!

First of all I would like to say you are a very special man. I'm sure your mother is proud of you. Your siblings are probably looking at you for guidance also, yes, you have a lot to contend with but keep your chin up and your nose clean ( that's what my dad always said to me). Talk to your teachers, counslers, maybe some of your friends parents could give you advise that know more of your situation. Finish school that will make your mother proud! I know this probably wasn't much help but I have been in tough situations too. Being a single mom with two children. Trust me son, the sun will shine again and when it does you will bask in it. Have courage, faith and above all look up and ask for help. You have nothing to be ashamed of. We all get depressed in life and you have little ones looking on your life. Have them help you as much as they can with chores around the house. Go to a church and ask the pastor for advice sometimes they will help out in hard times. Always remember you are not alone. God will not put more on us than we can bear. I know there were times I felt I would be swallowed up by fear. But, I would look at my girls and know that I had to keep striving for their sake. You were forced to be a man before your time. That's ok your there now so pick up your feet and hold your head up high for one day you will look back and be so thankful that you had what it took deep down to make it. Read in Psalms David was often afflicted and cried unto the Lord. Cry unto the Lord, child he will hear you and lift you up out of the depths of darkness. You may e-mail me at sbacrc@yahoo.com. You have a lot on your plate. Sorry about your mothers illness. Have you gotten Hospice for her yet. If not, start there. I don't know what her illness is. Hospice varies. I don't know where you live either. Do whatever you can to get through school. I live in Ohio and after you are 18 it is even hard to get a job at McDonald's without a high school diploma. Can you talk to your guidance counselor at school? You need someone to talk to that can help you through this. Are you the one taking care of your mom? Probably cannot do much about where you live until you get a better job and save up some money. Worry about getting through school first and look at the ghetto as a temporary situation. Try to make some new friends also. That will help some with your depression. If you are really depressed you might need to see a doctor to help you out. That is about all I have for you. You are doing very well for yourself. Very impressive. Finding a job is Hard ...Very hard Especially out of high school. Make up a resume. Remember when looking for a job just out if High school you can't shoot for the top. You might have to settle (for now) for working at a fast food joint, a gas station, or in retail. Dont try to concentrate a lot on negative things! I know its easy to say but hard to do! But what cant kill you will make you stronger! You will become a stronger better man! poverty is nothing you can overcome all of that, believe in yourself!
Your not a spoiled lil brat your gona be a man who makes it on your own! And when you do its gona be rewarding!
Be there for your mother! She wouldnt want you to do something stupid and thats what might scare her! Choose to be a great person no matter what! money issues, racial issues or anything YOU CAN OVER COME ANYTHING!!!
world needs great men and you are probably one of them!

please talk to your counselor at school. you have all the right ambitions. you need positive assurance that you have made the right choices, the counselor should be able to provide some of that for you. take on any fast food, grocery store, blockbuster, kmart, walmart, target job you can get for now. but keep looking in the meantime. be positive, this is your low point, it will get better if you put forth the effort. make it happen. I admire you being here asking the question instead of being out on the streets. whoever raised you should be very proud of you. good luck to you.

my friend it seems that only God can help you so i will give you the best way to ask for his help...but if it works i need you to do something for yourself which i will write at the end of what i am about to tell you.
God created you and he wont forget you...i want you to wake up at the last third of the night and i want you to take a shower and try to clear your mind and keep only one thing in your mind which is GOD then ask him for his help...pray and ask for the things you want and mean it...let it come from your heart... and do it soon cause we are in a holy days and believe that he will give you the strength and he will make things better even if it was in another way than you thought it should be. keep in mind that you are asking THE ONE and the only creater who started it all.
i know it will work...its simple and to me it seems as if you need any help so i guess why not try it bro.
what i want from you to do for yourself if it works...is to read the Holy Quran by yourself and you can be the judge of what happens with you.
