It really depends on what the walls are made of. A .38 special can easily penetrate most sheetrock walls, and still have enough energy to cause a lethal wound to someone on the other side. This is a big consideration when choosing how to defend your home.

YES.......A 38 Special or 38 Special +P round will easily penetrate most walls with energy left over. It wouldn't penetrate a Cinder or Concrete Block wall though.Makes a decent home defense caliber if you are worried about shooting thru walls and possibly hitting neighbors......

Yes, it will penetrate multiple of any standard construction wall, even if it is an exterior one! But if it's brick or cement or something sturdy like that, forget about it! (although some rifles can!)

Bullets, any caliber, can go through a lot of dry wall. The exception is the Glazier-type, pre-fragmented pistol slug.

normal interior walls yes with no problem, also a steel entrance door, exterior walls of normal construction (drywall, insulation, 1/2"osb, and vinyl siding) i would say yes
brick I do not know

i think it can get through a sheet of dry wall and still be able to kill somone. other than that, if you mean like bricks and crap, no...
