I can't define myself! I don't have a favorite anything!?

I don't have a favorite anything! not a favorite fruit, singer, color...anything I can never make up my mind about something and my handwriting is always different when I write, it's like there is nothing that defines me....my voice changes, i don't talk a certain way..sometimes i talk really proper and sometimes it's kind of ghetto, I don't even have a certain clothing style or guy preference....it's like i'm not one person, but a bunch of different people. No, i'm not bipolar..lol i just wish that I could define myself and I can't because I don't have a favorite anything! BASICALLY, the way i do things are not consistant, and everyone around me seems to know who they are and what they like except me...im 20 years old by the way

A lot of changes going on in a 20 yr.old body.,and mind.It really sounds like you need to quit over stressing yourself! and your friends may not be as to gather as they appear to be.I bet you do have favorite things too,You just don't realize it because you are trying to hard.It sounds like you have your emotions and your brain locked in terror,the hardest thing to do when you get like this is to relax, but that is what you need to do. How about making a point to spending a week only focusing on things that are funny. Try doing mental pictures of yourself in goofy outfits.If you can find jailhouse orange old man pants,hiked up as high in the front as you can,paired with a neon green shirt,and by the way the pants Have to be short enough to show the pretty red socks! I promise you that I am not making light of your situation ,I have been there myself. Hang in there and just fake it 'till you make it . It really works.You are in control .Stop worrying You'll be O.K.

Mdub, this is common at your age. If your college offers a Myers-Brigs Personality Type Indicator test, take it. That is a targeted test to help you figure out what you may want to do by assessing traits you have. You seem to be modeling your behavior after people you are near at any particular time. Don't bother worrying about this. It just is.

If the Myers-Brigs is not available in your college, buy a copy of "Please Understand Me," which discusses the Myers-Brigs test. Another book to buy (or take out of the library) is "What Color is my Rainbow." Both are older books on the subjects, and certainly will be in the library. You just did define yourself . The only favorite thing I have is the woman asleep behind me . Other than that I have no favorite song color ice cream cloths style and at times depending on my moods my accent changes . Get me mad enough you would think I was from Scotland . This is us and who we are enjoy it I do . I am 45 .

I think it's good that you like a lot of different things. I think it would be awful to just like one thing and to be restricted to certain kinds of clothes etc. My writing is different too..sometimes I slant to the right..sometimes to the left sometimes straight up ..sometimes big letters sometimes small letter..sometimes scribbly..sometimes almost perfect writing. (gotch beat on that? lol). My voice changed because I didn't like it high pitched...gave me a headache. And the way you talk usually depends on who you're talking to. Maybe you're a Gemini. lol...that's what I am and I fit it to a tea..without trying...like they peeked in my window. I'm not really into "signs"...but look up yours and see if it doesn't help explain the way you are.

Join the club. I am much older than you and still don't know what I want to be. I have no real favorites, either, everything is take it or leave it.
