Well in my days there were. In the 1940's and 50's most churches and schools had youth clubs associated with them.. Did all sorts of things. Played indoor games like table tennis, darts, billiards and snooker. Had football and cricket teams to play other youth clubs. Had dances, girls mainly listened to the pop music of the time. In those days most kids left school at 14 so that is where the training and skills would come in with apprenticeships etc, In those days many youngsters also belonged to the Boys Brigade, Boy Scouts or Girl Guides, for fun, camping and so on and also learned a lot of good things, Also remember then that at 18 and a bit boys got called up for National Service. But there again the whole social environment was much different then, much better in my opinion.

there are already soem but in general i'm pretty sure a lot of them aren' that great
I don't think anyone of the ages 12-16 want to learn new skills in there spare time & those who do would probably be already going to scouts & guides etc...
The problem really is getting one going which appeals to young people adults have a habit of saying well they need this so we'll give it to them - teenagers rarely want what they need!

Absolutely...........I recall my 12-16 years were some of the happiest I can recall. I belonged to three Young Clubs, each run by a church. (Different evenings) I made loads of friends, always playing table tennis, (my favourite - there was lots of others stuff to do) dancing to the latest record, going on outings by coach, entering competitions, joining out of school activities, rambles, loads of parties, never had time to be bored or get into trouble, still have contact with a few folks even today. Yes, yes, yes..........a brilliant idea!!!

Yes but needs to be a little more wild then the usual ones.
Ie have non alchol raves closely resembling real ones, a non alcohol nighclub with bands, stagediving, crowd surfing and moshing. Oh and chilli drinking games with the likes of
http://www.chez-williams.com/Hot%20Sauce/hothome.htm
This stuff in them so the guys can compete for who can compete for the hardest (ie moron) drinker without alcohol.... these sauces are no wimp sauces
Activities like bungee jumping, surfing, kite sports and other extreme activities.
With tips for dating and it being fine for couples to make out.
You have to compete with drugs and joyriding so need to have more adrenaline activities and adenture and excitments. Plus help they develop sex and relationships and appear not to be goodie two shoes.
ie after jetski races cocaine seems boring.
ie to get kids to go you need to loose the boring goodie goodie image

There are youth groups, the problem is they are boring and the youth want thrills.

Damn straight, we had one in my home town called the Launching Pad, and all ages were welcome and it worked great, kept the kids off the street. Granted it is a small town, but even small town, latch-key kids need somewhere to go and something to do.
