Is a man wiser than God? Is Science greater than God's truth?
Should we seek our wisdom from a man or from God?
Can Science reveal to you the absolute truth? If that is so you have no need of God.
It is not by a man's limited wisdom we know God but only by God's revelation.
Muslims miss a very important point and that is our need for God.
I am not taught God's truth by any man but receive the truth from God.

Some truths if not most truths are unseen (Ghaib).

Iman is based on the unseen truths of the hereafter which we have not seen.

There are many scientific evidences that are used in the Quran but it is not a requirement.

The evidence for the Unseen world which is to come IS the Quran but scientific proof is not possible unless you have a time machine.

The Quran is full of science because nature is a system created by Allah and looking at it shows how great he is.

Scientific evidences are limited only to eyes, ear and one's understanding of facts. There are umpteen number of unexplained facts which science cannot elaborate as of date (it may in future but not now). We can only understand the reason of certain things but "WHY" is a major question. So don't go into depth of scientif facts just beleive it by compairing it with today's world and situation. Take care

I'm sorry, but a long time ago it was said that ''there are no facts. What you call facts are dogmatic, prejudiced statements or theories, dressed up and presented as facts.''

What you terms 'facts' are always subjective to the viewpoint of the observer, and as such are open to interpretations ~ just as are 'Holy' books and the various practises that spring from them. Hence, we had periods where Christians tried to beat the heck out of other Christians, and Muslim, Hindu etc were into the same type of struggle to demonstrate their 'rightness' in their interpretation of the word(s) of God.

There's nothing wrong with religion ~ excepting in what the Entire World Community does with it ~ all in the name of 'Facts' ~ subject to interpretation.

Some of the wonderful science of the quran:

# Humans created from a single man. 4: 1

# Homosexual acts are condemned as unnatural. (Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?) But, in fact, such acts are common in many other species. 7:80-81

# Crucifixion is a Roman punishment, unknown in Egypt at the time this story supposedly occurred. 7:124

# Humans created from a single man. 7:189

# Joseph saw in a dream eleven planets. Does this mean that according to the Quran there are eleven planets in our solar system? 12:4

# Most scholars consider Dhu'l-Qarneyn ("The Two-Horned Lord") to be Alexander the Great, who is here presented as a devout Muslim. 18:83-98

# The Pharaoh threatens to crucify Hebrews on palm tress. (But crucifixion was a Roman form of punishment that was unknown at the time.) 20:71

# The earth is fixed and does not move. 27:61

# "The sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him." 36:38

Allah put "lamps" in the lower heaven to serve as lights. These are the stars that we see in the sky at night. 41:12

Allah asks Muhammed to examine the sky to see if it has any cracks. 67:3

# Allah made the stars as missiles to throw at devils. 67:5

# At the end of the world the earth with the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with one crash. 69:14

to WWBJ and other muslim replying this question: please, stop rethorics and answer the question!

This question is about very specific things that we know from your book and that we know from science. Do they match?

For example, when you take Bible, you can see that it talks about King Herod. And we know such king existed. It talks about several kings with same name - before and after Jesus. And we know there were at least three of them (dynasty).

It talks about David, and we know from archeology David existed: they found items in OTHER lands that say "and such and such king defeated such and such dude, who is from line of great David, king of Jerusalerm".

Bible has a lot of historical evidences that are right there on top. Yes, some question some of the stories, but most do not decline the fact that many stories have been already confirmed by science.

can YOU, muslim, provide the same? - i am not attacking your faith, i am attacking the way you answer direct question.

smells like "did holocaust took place?" - answer: "some beleive it did not". Tell it to my grandmother who lost relatives there!!!!!!
-----------------------

To answer your question: there are probably few historical facts, but quran is known to contain items that cannot be explained without involving blind faith. See other people posts for the details.
Bible can be explained without involving blind faith: on some of the things you simply say "this is a miracle, i.e. - extraordinary, and this is how bible presents it". quran does not do it.

----------

i do not diminish what muhamed did for Arabs of his time. he was great political leader. too bad he came up with fake religion :(

the first word in the Quran is "read.."

until today, people read to get knowledge.people read to understand.

Allah told us to read the Quran, Quran teaches us about life and to prepare us. Quran show us about there's something to for you to learn and understand, even told us there's something that our human mind can't understand. Quran teaches us to be humble, learn from the past mistake, and to remind us that all the knowledge are come from Allah SWT.

That's why we have to read Quran everyday, to put our feet on the ground because we in this earth are only visiting. Nothing is forever in this earth. Quran prepare us for life after death.

It's hard for some to understand because some unbelievers are try hard to find "only" the unsolve in this book.they haven't read it thoroughly and understand it from the start.

Happy ramadhan my brothers and sisters
