I have always found it quite amusing that - God is so concerned with these carbon based creatures located in the boondox of the milkyway. What makes us so special? Do plants, animals, atoms and molecules graner the same "Special Attention" we do?

I agree with you, but on the other hand, the fact that we are cognizant of God, if God exists, must mean something. Even us limited creatures have greater affection for those things that are cognizant of us as living beings. Hence, we care more for a lizard than a box of cookies, more about a dog than a lizard, and more for people(perhaps) than other animals.

true, God may be above all that, but most religions posit that God either created us out of love or split God's Self into all the beings and matter of the world. Either way, it seems, the ability to be aware of God would draw one closer to the Love that is ever-existent....it most likely is equally available to the rock and the molecule, but they are not aware and so have no ability to get more or less.

Or maybe its as you say, just the ego-trip of a being with a few too many nerve bundles shooting out of its brain.

Now, now - let's not forget: God is all-powerful, and eternal. Given that he is, he's got plenty of time to give all us little carbon-based entities all the attention we need, just as with the silicon-based Murmphs on the planet Pzrymntqz. Why do you ask? ;-)

Interesting question. I always found it to be a bit selfish that we often consider that God answers our individual prayers, and that he has the power to change our lives. In reality, we are smaller than a grain of salt compared to the rest of the universe. I don't feel special, or worth any type of love from God. I just respect his or her work to the best of my ability, and take care of myself and those that I love.

No. As a Christan, I was taught since small with the idea that God loves humans because he created us, and allowed us to rule over all the animals. If you read Genesis in the bible, it can tell you why god loves humans.

Well it depends if you believe in God or not. If you do believe in God then you must realize that he created you in his image. HIS IMAGE. Only humans were created like that. That in itself should make you feel special. And second of all, God gave his only son to save you. You, sinful, full of iniquities and weaknesses and faults. Why would he sacrifice his only son if he didn't think you were special?

You're absolutely right that we do not deserve His love. But if He chose to love us by making us in His image (spiritual beings, not just physical), then I am certainly not going to complain. And I'm not going to complain about Him rescuing us from sin through the sacrifice of His Son.

It is appointed unto men once to die, and after that the judgment. Your inner self knows this, but your mind rebels against it.

yes....i believe that all life is valid and special. We do not exist because we are worthy. we are here only by grace.
if we all got what we deserved, something tells me we would be in trouble!

Because we are imbued with God's spirit and he looked at his creations and said they were good.
