You tell guys that may not know you that you're sick of guys not treating you right (i.e. not following through when they say they'll call, answering their phone during a date when it shows disinterest) and they sit there and call you "high maintenance." How does wanting to get treated with respect make you 'high maintenance'?

There is a huge difference between "high maintenance" and "respecting" a girl. I agree some guys think girls are too demanding at times when it is not that unreasonable like you gave the calling when he said he would, thats just being a jackass. But it does go vice versa sometimes. Some girls have very unreasonable demands like always driving to their house or paying for everything. Why cant she drive to his house if she has a car or why cant she pay at times? Chivalry ends at a point. There are some things though that will make a girl 'high maintenance' for example always complaining about things that only she can change asking her man to do everything for her when she is perfectly capable to help. Both sexes are wrong and right at times but the whole blame can not be put on just guys.

What about not getting replies to my e-mails that I sent. I sent questions to women who have profiles up. They claim they're interested in hearing from sinlge men. Yet,when I write; Hi, what's your name ? or make a comment. I get no response. How difficult is it for you to respond to a simple question like; Hi,What's your name ? These women are all adult. Yet their behaviour is infantile. It's almost surreal how online "dating" reminds me of pulling teeth from a child. If you want to be taken seriously. Grow up and act your age. You have a double standard. You think it's okay to walk all over men. You think a man should do everything that you demand but not vice versa. You feel you don't have to follow through on your promises but we must ? Are you insane,juvenile,retarded,all of the above ? Your idea of being treated "right" is a warped and distorted view of right. It's amazing how arrrogant and spoiled a lot of you women have become. You don't realize how good you have it compred to women living in Afghanistan or Africa. You disrespect a man there and you're getting a beating or a stoning.

Maybe to some guys, just treating a girl with respect(returning calls, answering their phone during a date) is too much work for them...so they label you as "high maintenance".
You shouldn't have to remind a guy you'd like to be treated with respect.
If you have to.....is he really worth your time?

Because they want to put the least amount of effort into getting what they want. Too bad!!! Stick to your guns. If you are worth it, act like it. Sooner or later he will get the hint or leave. Either way, you are good!! You didn't want the jerk that left anyway!! lol Don't ever settle for being treated badly. If you do, they will run over you, and take advantage of you.
Also remember that you need to treat him good, if he is treating you good. You don't want the bottom of the barrel either!!

Well, I know some high maintenance women. They are very demanding, mostly it means to me that they require a lot of attention and are needy.
What you are describing is what in my opinion EVERY woman should have ... a guy that pays attention to her!

If you don't like the way a guy treats you, just don't date him any more. Men are kind of like a used clothing store. Often you have to search for a long time to find something special.

To guys, 'telling' sounds like 'complaining'.
If you're sick of this behaviour don't accept it. Complaining about it wont make a difference, or wont prevent the person you're talking to from doing the same thing. Say no to the behaviour, then move on.

they dont have the money to maintain you, so they try to confuse you and throw u off balance by insinuating that u are "high maintenance". The ironic thing about the whole thing is that they met u looking the way u look because u take care of yourself, they just dont want to have to afford to keep "u" looking the way u do.

Seriously? what do you girls want... sometimes business has to be taken care of, i admit it shouldn't take more then 10 minutes but for god sake give us a break some people have to bring home the bacon. and what is to you if a guy gets a call from a friend you should understand either way, if you haven't been with him long then hell yeah hes gonna talk to his best bud over you, you might leave tomorrow, and if you have been with him awhile then you don't care cause you love him for who he is.... get over yourselves!!!!!

Usually high maint. means a women who needs a lot of money spent on them. Fake nails, hair, expensive clothes, etc. Your dating the wrong kind of guys.
