i really wouldnt know where to buy pork shoulder online but am just wondering whether the cost of shipping and preservation wd be worth it just to make some food.

maybe u cd buy a whole live pig and get ur butcher or slaughterhouse to kill and dress it for u

I found nimanranch.com has a roughly 7 pound pork shoulder for $39.95...probably plus shipping.

I always think of pork shoulder as a less expensive cut of pork. This seems pretty expensive. What are you trying to make? Maybe a local butcher shop can suggest an alternative cut of meat for you. Or give us more info and maybe we can suggest something that you can find locally. To be honest, I'm surprised you can't find it in southern Indiana; I'm from Ohio and I never have trouble finding it.
