Don't give him a guilt complex! Kids play with themselves, it's normal.

why is a 5 year old still in pullups - that's way too old - you have to fix this now - don't worry about the hand - just concentrate on toilet training.

It's OK... perfectly normal. Both of my boys did the same thing around that age. And every mom of a boy I've ever talked to about it has said the same thing. He'll outgrow it eventually (probably). And since he's asleep, I'm sure he doesn't even know he's doing it.

Every man I have ever known [including my husband, my brother, my old male roomates, and my son] sleeps like that at some point during the night. It's a guy thing-don't worry =)

Ha ha thats the start wait till he starts pulling it back and saying mummy look at what i can do...... yuk. It's very normal just watch him outdoors, girls do this too, but boys can stretch and pull theirs so become a bit obsessed with them, they never grow out of that either lol.

As long as your son is not doing this in public you do not need to say anything to him its perfectly normal and healthy.

If he does start in public you need to gently tell him that such actions are for private only, in the comfort of his bedroom.

Good luck

Yes, it's fairly normal. Men really are generally happy just knowing it's there.

More importantly...Why is your five year old still wearing pull ups?

It may be childhood curiosity or insecurity--making sure he's still intact.

He'll probably outgrow it. Do check and make sure he doesn't have a rash, though.
