Love your neighbor as yourself.
Lets start doing this-------------or will we just whine and complain and wait for a real believer in God to step up?

Guraq------------I thank God for you----------you and an unbeliever----------between the unbeliever's apathy, and your wisdom my life will now be forever changed--------------I have been more of a hearer and less of a doer. I now step up to the call. I DO LOVE GOD, and I will demonstrate that love for God in not only what I say, but what I do.

I can sit before this key-board and honestly declare to you, that I could do far more for others than I am presently doing.
The onus is on the truly converted Christians to step-up and serve the needs of others. Christians have read about the "slothful" servant or the parable of the talents re: burying them in the ground - opposed to putting them to use. Perhaps the illusion of "religion" (feeling good - not doing good) has infiltrated even, the ranks of Christianity ? !!!

your missing the point completely.
1st......this calling and burden has been heavily on YOUR heart for a reason. Not to convince others to do it. But, for you to open up to do this.
2. you are defining what is helping and assuming this is what is meant. Help come in many different forms and the request is that we are open when the time arises or we see a need. Remember the fish story? The goal was not to take fish and feed the man everyday. The goal and real help was to teach him to fish. We help to restore people not pity or create victims.
2. zealousness is a great thing if focused and directed by the Spirit and not your flesh seeking comfort from these acts of chairty. Sometimes rushing off in a zealous state can blind us to the whole message we are learning.

I see no question. However, hypocricy is saying one thing and doing another. Most of us fall short of all we could be doing to help others, but that doesn't make us hypocrites. It makes us human. God expects us to do our best to follow the example he gave us through Christ. He does not expect that most of us will manage sainthood. We are sinners and we often fall short or worse. We should all start to do more...if we can. But, more importantly, we must never stop trying. Even failure is exceptable to God, if we did our best. The path to hell may be paved with good intentions, however, the path to heaven is paved with sincere effort.

Did you just finish one of those Starving in another country shows? Wow, shame and guilt can be a real motivator, but it has been my experience that it doesn't last very long. I sense a real desire in you, but your emotions are a little out of sync. WE ALL are not hypocrites. Some of us here truly and sincerely care, PLUS some of us here do our part. DO YOU? I guarantee that when you do start carrying the message and doing your part, you'll calm down. Whew--such passion you have.

i like the fact that you call everyone a hypocrite including yourself... because its very true. everyone's a hypocrite once in a while.. thats why we need God. to help us with our hypocracy. but just because something like this is asked doesnt mean its gonna happen. all we can do is pray that it does happen and have faith that it will.

Well when I see whats going on in specific parts of the world, because we wanted to help, I would rather say, everyone on his own.
