I know it's an old and boring question, but I haven't yet heard a satisfactory answer. Why did god decide that some people would live in air conditioned condo's and waste food etc, even though they may not pray to him, but others who also have faith, and believe in him must go hungry and face unimaginable disadvantages?

Please do not show me a monotonous lengthy verse from the old or new testament as your answer. Just tell me in your words why your god (whitchever one you pray to) allows these things to happen.

If you say "Those people will get their rewards in heaven" or "They have been evil in former lives", then why are us 'privilaged' people such a s s holes now if we were so good in former lives?

yeah I've heard the "free will" argument before too. But if god loves all humans and yet so many are dying and being victimised by others, surely he should intervene at some point. Also, some people are not given "free will" by the governments that rule them.

God loves us, The proof is he laid down his righteous flesh to pay the penalty of death we incurred through sin.
It is sin in this world that makes this world unbearable.
Imagine if you can a world without sin?
There would be no war no disease and death.
This is the world for those who accept God's atonement. who are changed to his righteousness.
This evil world is for a time and this time is grace that we can come to God and be made new by the atonement he provided us.

God, being omnipotent, decided who gets what, and goes where, well before their existence. :)

It's been awhile, but if I recall ("the realm of forms" ala Plato < may pertain..) ... Philosophically speaking 'Each is necessary in order for the other to exist.' What is pain, beauty, joy, sorrow? Can we define these things?

To understand your question, "privilaged" would need to be defined. "Air-conditioned condos"? I've known more than a few miserable people whose privilages extend well beyond that measure. Lottery winners in agony, lets say. Although I wouldn't mind such sufferage my self, I think we'd all deal with it differently

On the flip-side you mention those that "face unimaginable disadvantages." Trace those disadvantages. I'm not so sure they are disadvantaged.

(An admittedly poor attempt to "answer" your question.)

A Christian perspective: The short answer is that we continue to sin. He has given each generation opportunities to turn from sin and the majority keep right on sinning.Constantly asking for things we want, praying only when we want His help, yet forget to praise and thank Him for any and all good things, taking so much for granted because that's what society teaches us: that we deserve it all. It's a "Me! Me!" world. That's why the emerging church is growing so prevalent - because it caters to our wants and desires rather than focusing on teaching God's word.
Sin is the breaking of Gods law 1 John 3:4. The Law of God is the standard by which He judges the whole world and even if you have never read it He has written the Law upon your heart, Romans 2:15&16, so that we are without excuse.

Cause the human forget this love!!!, forget GOD, us some president you and I know that forget the meaning of be in God...
Did you know what is hell? Is the God absence, is what many people are causing.

the history is always the same And is going to be always the same but a little different can be made for the person who follow the Jesus words as: Mother Teresa, Joan Paul II the Pope, Father Pio and people like Gandhi !!!.

I don't believe in a change of the all human race but I believe in little changes, little works, I believe we can star causing happiness, peace, consolation to the people we have near and maybe, some day that people are going to cause the same to others...

Maybe that's why I am here writing you, not for 2 points !

What does God's loving us got to do with us not loving each other?
He loved us so much He came in the person of Christ and we killed Him. Talk about biting the hand that feeds! But he did it despite all you mentioned, knowing that the kingdom of God comes one soul at a time. God does love us, and if we would just love back, the awful things of this world would be done away. But, only some will come to Him, the rest will still mock the crucified Savior even though He now sits enthroned in heaven awaiting the last day when all the bad in this world will end forcefully, and the sin of man is finished forever.

I take it your a non-believer. God does love us. It is our choice to do with life what we like. God is hoping we will remember "WHO WE REALLY ARE". Have you read any of Neale Donald Walsch's God books. These have a lot of information on how we should be living today.
Jesus was a HEB, (highly evolved being). God wants us to be like Jesus was, loving, kind, compassionate, caring, giving, and HAPPY! Not to many of us are any of these things today, we are all into ourselves. Who can get the biggest most expensive vehicle, the best house, the clothes that are in, etc. Guess what? None of it is going to matter anyway in 100 years, or, when you die, which ever comes first.
God Bless

IF WE LOVE GOD, WHY IS THERE SO MUCH CRUELTY, WAR, SUFFERING AND HUNGER AND DISEASE.

We cause cruelty by our decisions to be cruel.

We are the participants in war, not God.
We either cause suffering, or do little to comfort others who are suffering.

We allow others to starve while we buy another video game, or eat at the steak house.
We only fund our own doctor visits, instead of giving to aid foundations to provide medicine and cures for others.

HOW LONG WILL MANKIND BLAME GOD FOR THE THINGS MAN DECIDES, DOES, AND DOES NOTHING TO HELP WITH?

Answer-----as long as there are individuals like yourself.
WHAT HAVE YOU PERSONALLY DONE TO COMBAT THE THINGS YOU JUST MENTIONED?

WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD, ONE PERSON AT A TIME---------------------HOW ABOUT NOW FOR YOU?

God is great and perfect in every way; he is pure love and all that is great, yet since he is so awesome, he has a strict aspect of justice as well.

God is perfect, he NEVER screws up; he made humans to live a perfect life. Humans were meant to live forever and love and be loved by God for eternity. But then, Adam chose to sin (just as Satan did not too long before that) and God placed a judgment on all of us. We will all die, we will kill each other, we will suffer, we will be plagued, we will feel pain and misery, etc. (those arent the words in the bible but thats how it is)

Just as God placed jugment on Satan that one day he and all the fallen angels will burn endlessly in the lake of fire, God cursed us all; because God is perfect, he cant alow injustice to pass so he will not lift this curse, just as he will not lift satan's judgement of going to hell.

God doesn't create cruelty and war, humans do!
We create our own suffering, sometimes hunger and usually diseases.

No, not in all cases, but most of the time, it is due to something that we have caused or created.

It is the fault of humans that we have wars and Aids. It is our fault that many people are hungry.

Why do people insist on blaming God for everything that goes wrong!? We need to take responsibility for our own mistakes!

We don't know the full reason for much of the cruelty, war, suffering, hunger and disease in the world, but we know that in times of affliction we are encouraged by trusting in God and commit our souls to him by continuing in well-doing.

This is a time-old question. Your heart must search for the answer of God, not of any paltry human. Address Him. And He will say, to your satisfaction, the truest answer One can give. The weight of all is too heavy to bear for one person to answer, for there are billions upon this Earth, and only one of me.
