Use a clarifying shampoo. Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is the best.
You can also dilute vinegar & rinse your hair w/ it.
Shiny Hair Rinse
Adapted from The Herbal Home Spa by Greta Breedlove (Storey Books, 1998).
This simple kitchen-cupboard recipe corrects the hair’s pH and removes residue from shampoo and other hair products, creating a healthy-looking shine and bringing out the natural highlights in your hair.
Now that the spring sun is out, let it show the shine in your hair!
If you don’t want even the slightest lightening of color, omit the lemon juice and double the vinegar.
Juice from ½ lemon
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 cup water
To make:
1. Combine all ingredients in a pitcher or jar and mix well.
To use:
1. Shampoo and rinse hair as usual.
2. Pour the mixture on your hair and massage into the scalp and through the hair.
3. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.

Wash ur hair daily if it is excessively oily, but use a gentle shampoo specifically for fine, oily hair. Have ur hairdresser suggest one that will help ur problem, if u can`t choose one from the many that line the shelves at the store. Take care that u don`t strip away all the oils from ur hair or u will end up with opposite results, dry flakey scalp, if harsh products r used.

I agree with Anne's suggestion of giving your hair a rest.
I used to have an oily scalp, but ever since I started using a shampoo with no SLS and conditioner with no silicone derivatives, my scalp has really normalized.
Shampoo only your scalp, and condition only the length (anything from the bottom of your ears down). It might help to normalize your scalp to shampoo only 3-4 times per week.
Also, to clarify, use a mix of 1tb apple cider vinegar with 1 cup water and spray it on your scalp. I do this 2-3 times per week leaving it in for about 30 minutes and then washing my hair afterward.

I also have this problem. If you can get away with it, 'rest' your hair from shampooing. Give it a days break from washing. Shampoo for oily hair only makes the system work harder to restore the natural oils. Gentle hair shampoos are best... Even try baby shampoo. Best of luck!

i'm not sure if this will work for you but in the salon i used to work at the stylist used to use sea breeze for their client's hair. i would shampoo the hair (i was a shampoo girl) twice rinse condition rinse and then spray the sea breeze let it set for a min and then rise. it feels so good. it's an deep clean astringent oil control formula that treats and prevents break out, it's for pimples but work good on the face and scalp. you can find it at walgreen's or wal mart.

Make sure to rise your hair thoroughly, as left in shampoo or conditioner will make it look like that. It's easiest to rinse hair without a water-saving shower head.

Use Pureology products. My roomate is a hair stylist and introducted me to this brand. I have fine hair that I MUST wash daily and the Pureology line keeps my hair lifted and grease free all day. Look for a salon that carries it in your area and talk to the stylists there on which products would best suit you (they have tons).

Perhaps you wash your hairs in a hot water. Don't do that. Wash in a warm-to-cold water, and not warm-to-hot. Cold water even better. You will see the results yourself.

How often do you wash your hair? If your hair is like that, you should wash it once a day. Try using Dawn soap.
