well, I don't think anyone stops to consider that factor. I think a lot of people on R&S have a high-bash rate. They type it out before they actually think about the ramifications, and the results can be quite stunning. Sometimes I'll just up and say, hey, you made me cry. I don't know if they take me seriously or if I'm taking me seriously, maybe we're all Yahoo Serious here or something. If we all spoke of our feelings rather than of what the other person is, we'd all get along better. As it is, it's kind of a free-for-all pillow fight. No one really gets hurt, right? Right?

The first time I was bashed on here my feelings were actually hurt. I complained and was told to toughen up (kindly). I did toughen up and now put the whole site in perspective. That's good advice to everyone---don't let the bashing here ruin your day.
Actually my first avatar's name was Funnycakes but a poster said it should be fruitcake so I changed it. lol
Sending you a smile to help pick up your day.

If you cannot take it don't dish it.
If a Man calls a Man a name the man that called the name should be expecting a bloody nose.
If you insult or criticize or disagree at all with others beliefs they will be insulted regardless of your intention that is a fact of life,
Everyone has a high sense of pride in something now days.
but heres the solution if you do not want bashed silence your tongue.

People say what they value by the way they react to the bashing. If there is a lesson to be learned by what is said then:
Do they value their anger more than what can be learned?

Bashing can be considered to be something as small as ridicule or sarcasm. When arguing about religion with a theist, rational reasoning never seems to get though so I often resort to ridicule or sarcasm because it keeps me semi-sane. =]

I do when it comes to being called defamatory names just because I don't agree with something. Shows a lack of morals, values, and self-respect on the part of the basher. I am open to debate but with respect. It works both ways.

yes, i would appear so...a lot of folks have their 'offense-o-meter' dialed to 'hair-trigger sensitive'...welcome to the united states of the offended, to steal a phrase...
bashing? i've seen so many attacks in R&S, both silly and vicious, that they're all starting to blur together...the worst stuff, to me, is when one side or another makes the following claim about EVERYONE who disagrees:
they're stupid
they're intolerant
they're EEEEEEEVILLLLLL
and their mom dresses them funny
i'm not terribly fond of people who have to make their 'point' by saying disgusting vulgar things about various religious figures...but maybe that's just me...

I consider bashing as statements like...
"Christians are idiots"
"Muslims are terrorists"
"Atheists are in denial"
Statements like those are just hateful and intolerant, and they go against my principle religious beliefs. Whether I agree with those people or not, I will respect their right to have opinions that are different from my own.

Go away! Leave me alone. I hate you! I hate you!!
As an aside, I have a low idiot-tolerance level. Not you! Just all the others who maintain that there is an invisible magician lurking everywhere.
