Sugar is water soluble organic CHEMICAL .

It is composed of the atoms of Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen only. ( C , H , AND O ).

The proportion of hydrogen to to oxygen is always 2 : 1.

For example Glucose sugar == C 6 H12 O 6 .

It is sweet to taste and being a Carbohydrate has good amount of energy and calorific value.

Sugar is just a molecule. Fruits, vegetables, and seeds are parts of plants.

So sugar isn't any of the above because it isn't a plant part.

Sugar is a chemical, therefore you could say it is a vegetable product - but it is neither a vegetable nor a fruit.
