I think I may be at risk. What are somethings to do to insure that I wont get it?

well i for one have had it...ive learned that ways to prevent yourself from getting pink eye is to constantly have your hands washed and dont touch something dirty then rub your eyes, or if someone might look like they have it dont touch them and dont let them touvch you and if by any chance it does happen make sure you was your hands and even then dont rub your eyes. you can also catch it when dust goes in your eyes because dust can contain bacteria and it will enter your eyes. so if youd like you can easily rinse your eyes with water

Pink eye is caused by a bacteria.
Therefore, wash your hands and keep them away from your eyes.
Don't share eye makeup. Throw out any eye make up that is old, replace your mascara every three months.

Wash your hands, wipe down any area that might have been touched by the person with vinegar and hot water. That's really all you can do.
It's pretty catchy.

Wear swimming goggles all the time and if you think you may also get poison ivy wrap yourself with trash bags as well

try avoiding touching your eye until after you wash your hands until then keep less eye contact if you have pink eye use visine it really helps :)

wash your hands often with antibacterial soap its a bacterial infection use hand sanitizer as often as your near who has had it
