No, quite the opposite. The woman is under the covering of her husband, you might also read Proverbs 31 to find out about a Godly woman. You seem the type that takes a verse or even a few words of a verse to try abnd build an argument. If in fact you read further in the same chapter it says the husband is to love his wife and give himself for her even as Christ did for the Church!

I hope you never read Mat 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And then skip to Luk 10:37 And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise. If you do we will see you in the newspapers for it says went out and hanged himself, go and do thou likewise!
In other words you have to take in context a comment not just pick a verse or two that you think justifies your preconceived position!

Oh great they want me to submit to get the answer posted. I wonder if you will respect people that submit to give an answer!

This is merely to keep order in the marriage and the faith. Women back then could get just as rambunctious as the women of today. The culture was different and yes the men basically took the point on religion and politics but the true men of God strived to please their wives. Just look at Abraham's wife, she talked him into fathering a child via her hand-maiden. Just think, even Sarah had a maid. Also, the clever women knew how to get their husbands to do what ever they wanted...sort of like today.

No. That's not what it means.

It is important to understand two concepts first. In the Gospel of Mark (12:31) Christ teaches us, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” This verse is the basis for every Christian’s interpersonal relationships. It teaches us that our interactions with others should be based on a concern for our neighbor’s needs, as well as our own personal needs. This verse also indirectly teaches that manipulation, control, exploitation and hatred are unacceptable

Second, a wife is asked to submit to their husband as her husband has submitted to Christ. This is equality and respect for a "Christ centered" marriage - Which is an assumption Paul made when he wrote that.

That is what the ancient Christian church taught about what you are asking. Modern churches may teach all sorts of wacky things because the guy who created their "denomination" 500 years ago taught them to interpret the Bible however they like. The ancient Christian church learned from the apostles directly. The New Testament wasn't completed for the first 300 or so years. Btw, the ancient Christian church is alive and well today. Back then people lived in a small society of people where husband rules. Luckily, we live in this generation; although we live in a sinful generation doomed to die of madness, we are given the right to be our individual self. Back then in Jesus's time the bible commanded that astrologers, gyspys, phychics were to be stoned to death; we dont do that now do we? Get the picture?

Secondly God created the woman to be the caretaker and supporter of the husband. It wasnt recorded that woman were to be mindless slaves. God will not punish you for not bringing your husband the remote when hes too lazy to get it, lol. We are all equal, and God protects all.

Thirdly it is also states for the husband to love the wive as much as God loves the church, its give and take.

There is a well known statement of Prophet Mohammad in which he said, "if we humans were allowed to prostate to a human , I would order wives to prostate to their husbands. But since prostration is only for God, therefore wives are commanded to obey their husbands when they make a final decision as head of family.

We see women prostrating to their husbands and most men older than woman or holding higher positions in Japan's movies showing old culture.

Prophet Mohammad's all wives were free to talk and give suggestions and even advise him in important matters. They some times had heated arguments and discussion with Prophet. But in the end when he made a final decision on a matter all wives accepted to his decision. In this method off course only husband is resposible for making bad decision. No any organization can function if it has two bosses of equal powers. This system works only where husband is bread earner and wife stays home and takes care of house and children.

In cultures where wife also goes out to work and bring money, off course she will tend not to listen every time to husband. They do argue, fight and marriages also fall apart. They wouldn't submit to the decision of husband because they are sharing the financial burden also and do want equal rights in decosopm making also. They some times expect husbands to honor wife's decision even if it is not good just because she also makes money. I wouldn't totally blame them.

We have to see in which culture families have peace, love and stability and children are brought up to be decent human beings and well successful in their lives.

No, we women/wives are not to be mindless slaves. There are many Bible studies and commentaries on these verses. The verse actually refers to the wife submitting to the authority of her husband as head of household JUST AS her husband is to submit himself to the authority of Christ as head of the church. The same chapter has instructions to husbands, fathers, children, servants - so when not taken out of context it is understood better.

____As in the commentary from Matthew Henry (linked below):__"...submission, not to a rigorous lord or absolute tyrant, who may do his will and is without restraints, but to a husband, and to her own husband, who stands in the nearest relation, and is under strict engagements to proper duty too."

____And then there is mutual submission of husband and wife referred to in 1 Chronicles 7:4:__"The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband [does]. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife [does]."

From a (not perfect) wife of 16 years, who's has only been walking with the Lord 5 or 6 years, it is really not a woman vs man issue. God will bless you as you ask questions and study His word. Sandra

What part of "submit" means either "mindless" or "slave"?
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm playing Devil's Advocate here. But submission simply implies administrative authority, like your boss. It does not mean mindless, unquestioning obedience. And keep in mind, this passage (which is not authentically Pauline to begin with) was written to Greeks. In Christian Churches, women held clerical positions, sat in the congregation, participated in the community, and held personal property. In Greek society, a woman was strictly forbidden from interacting with any males other than her immediate family. In Greek households, wives were forced to hide themselves in the back rooms when a male visitor arrived, and were not allowed to leave the house without an adult male escort. Outside the home, she was forbidden to speak.

My answer to your first 3 questions is: This is only going to happen when "Wild Flying Monkeys " come storming out of a donkey's rear end.
And No! Women are NOT to be mindless slaves.
Here comes the good part, folks:
In my opinion,
It's stuff like this that makes a lot of normal men become hateful, vindictive, arrogant, Bible-thumping idiots, who think that they can interpret it any way that suits their purpose. And because I have had first hand knowledge of this, I can make such a statement.
Please ladies, if your man tells you this line of "crap-o-la" get him committed to the nearest asylum or to the state hospital for the "Mentally Departed", because he has flipped his lid and may prove to be quite dangerous when provoked.

You fail to mention "Husbands, give preferential treatment to your wives and be as Christ was for the church, in that he laid down His life for her." The word also says "Father do not provoke your children.....It seems as though you are being a bit selective to prove something that is not even vaguely sound bible doctrine. "Mindless slaves?" Please give chapter and verse that even hints at such a practice. You are using the same verse out of context that brutal men use to batter their wives, when in fact God forbids any such behavior. The word says there is no male nor female in Christ Jesus. He made women different, not inferior.
