Do you know what it's like to be called "it"?
To be afraid to hold your head up high?
To fear harassment or being hit?
To live a life that is a lie?

Do you fear your unknown future self?
What you will develop into and become?
Do you know what it's like to live in stealth?
Or to have your whole life come undone?

Do you know how to be honest with yourself?
and see the truth inside of you?
To make life changing decisions for your own mental health?
And to face the question of what to do?

Do you know the feeling of remaining tightly bound?
and how it was more painful than the risk it took to bloom?
And how it feels like you're screaming but there is no sound
surrounded by people in a crowded room?

Do you see what no one else can see?
A diverse, unique perspective of two?
Do you see the hate, the intolerance and the cruelty?
And do you feel shame or honor to be among the few?

Yea, i sure do know, nicely done, but i just put it all at the back of my head in that little empty space which was created when i ran into a pole, and its not that bad for me anyway, coz everyone likes me, i'm nice apparently

This reminds me of Langston Hughes -- pithy, honest, and confrontational. I'm thinking especially of his poem, "Harlem" (the one that starts, "What happens to a dream deferred?").

That was truly touching. It's the perfect articulation of countless feelings felt by many.
