Product Description
Chi Original 1" Farouk CHI Ceramic Flat Iron Model GF-1001 The CHI can be considered
one of the most versatile Hairstyling Irons on the market today. The CHI's ergonomic
design allows the user to flip hair up or curl it under with a twist of the wrist.
The CHI is ideal for straightening and smoothing the hair while the ceramic plates seal
in natural moisture. It's great to use prior to a Dry Haircut. The ceramic coated paddles
help prevent scorching hair color and helps reduce styling product build-up. Featuring an
extra long swivel cord to prevent tangling, the CHI has a concealed on-off switch inside
the handle to prevent accidentally turning the unit off when in use. The heat paddles are
recessed from the edges to prevent skin burns. Will automatically heat up in less than 10
seconds. Temperature is preset at 150-180 degrees Celsius(302-356 degrees Fahrenheit)

I spent $140 and bought a CHI from a local beauty supply store. One day I plugged it in and the red light never came on and it never got hot again. I am so upset. I have only had it a little over a year and I expect something that cost this much would last. The store where I purchased it won't take it back and I am afraid if I purchase another chi it will brake in year or less again. I am done with CHI, I am researching for other flat iron brands.

Well, the Chi straightener is the best, but it costs about $150! So I would recommend a Remington Wet 2 Straight straightener which costs about $25 at Target. It allows you to go directly from wet curly hair to dry straight hair (it will take a while thought so I would recommend blow drying then straightening). Straightening will always damage your hair a little so just make sure you wash it properly and let it go natural every once and a while. Good luck!

Definatly buy a CHI. They do not fry your hair in the least bit. They are japenese and have a patented technolegy that nobody has been able to dublicate so it won't fry your hair at all. They are expensive about $250 i think but worth the money. DO NOT buy a cheap one, your'll regrete it when you have a big fluffy mound of gross lumpy frazzeled fryed hair.

The pro select flat iron is really good and worth the investment it has to be ceramic so it wont damage your hair. They usually go for about $150 in the mall. But look for it on ebay. Try looking for LE ANGELIQUE PRO NEW CERAMIC HAIR STRAIGHTENER/IRON

well for me, i use the revlon ceramic straightner for about 40 dollars at target. i would have got the chi one, but it was too expensive for me and i wanted to use the rest of my other money for hair care products.
for the products, i have the garnier leave in conditioner, the pantene straightness serum thing, and this dangerously straight stuff. i think you can purchase this at target too.
first, i take a shower, then air dry my hair until the water doesnt drip. then mix the three stuff above and put it in your hair until all coated. after, air dry it til its completly dry. next, tie you hair in section and just iron. dont take shower your head for every 2-3 days. you can shower your body though.
you can also straighten it for about 300 dollars i think, i got mine free. its a 3 hour process and its worth it for me. my hair was healthy and straight.

1. Ok well for the flat iron problem, i suggest a GHD (Good Hair Day) The tongs are made to lock the moisture in with out drying hair out.
I use mine alost everyday and my hair is normal.
2. Well, although chemical straighning is good, it could ruin your hair. Also say one day if you wanted it curly or crimped you wont be able to.
Heres a link ffor the GHD
