Edge. If you pick any two of these statments as true then the remaining statement cannot be true. It has to be false or the others can't both be true.

Can you explain how the contradict? I don't see it.

God created man in His image - we look like God does. This does not mean we have His nature.

God is perfect - not sure I need an explanation here.

God gave man free will - God created man but He wanted man to have the ability to choose good or evil. This does not make God imperfect and it does not prevent Him from making man in His image.

So once again I see no contradiction. Maybe you could explain the contradiction you see. Specifically how one statement contradicts the others?

"God is perfect and infallible and cannot make mistakes."

god can not create a stone too heavy for him to lift. if he can not create this stone he is not all powerful and perfect. if he does create this stone, he can not lift it. making the idea that he is "perfect" false.

i think god made man in his image by giving man free will, and it ends there. god has the power to do as he wishes, as do humans... it is simply a matter of how one chooses to exercise that will.

I believe that "in His own image" doesn't mean that we look like God -- it means that He made us the way He thought we should look. Could be worse ... He's got a sense of humor (think of the platypus & the giraffe)!

so...why can't they all be true? just because your little brain can't wrap around it, doesn't make any of this untrue...

God has thoughts and plans that are so beyond you, as your thoughts and plans are beyond your dog or cat...
