why you want to color your hair when you have got natural dark brown color. No color is going to stay permantely in your hair.
Infact you would have side effects like grey hair, dandruff etc, whether you use nice brand or not.

I would suggest you not to use hair color & be happy with the God gifted hair.

Thanks
Jack

Its hard making dark hair lighter but there are some brands if you ask at your nearest beauty supply that can help with that. Also putting bleach in it helps you get the color you want even though I dont recommend that. There are also semi permanent hair dyes that work really well. Also having someone do it for you is the trick sometimes and then you learn to do it yourself.

Because your hair is naturally dark, you will need to bleach it first before colouring it.

When you bleach your hair, it will go a brassy orange colour. Then put a medium golden brown over it to get a light golden brown / blonde.

If your doing it for the very first time, pay good money and get a hairdresser to do it. you can really damage your hair if you do it at home without knowing what your doing. Make sure your hair is in very good condition before you bleach it, and don;t colour it straight after bleaching - it will fall out.

I have the same problem. I have been trying to be a brunette for a couple of years and I have to dye my hair every 6 weeks - its not like the color fades my hair turns blonde. Its like the color falls off.

I know you need to strip you hair of the color - I would go to a professional.

go to a pro if you're trying to lighten it. You'll have to use bleach...you can't just put a box of hair color on and expect it to change color. Dye only deposits color...not lighten it
