I heard that fluoride is really bad, especially for children. The reason for fluoride is to make stronger teeth. And that the dental professionals don't have a say against it.

What do you think? Also, if fluoride is needed to maintain strong teeth then what is there that's causing weak teeth? I grew up in a country where we drank water from streams and rivers and my teeth are strong. There are some in-perfections because brushing was near none.

This is easily one of those "profit over science" propagandas that the people are paying for it. I don't see companies are hurry up to find another form of tooth strengthen solution. It will slowly surface, just like the tobacco lie.

Quite a few fluorides have been found useful in dental care, and are probably of value if used that way. But it's basically an industrial waste, and shouldn't be added to water supplies. To get a clue, look at the warning label on your tube of toothpaste, if it contains fluoride. Why we tolerate this intentional pollution of our water supply is beyond me.

There was this one community in arkansas that drank water from a local source and the dentist there was puzzled why there was such a lack in the number of cavaties in his patients and he also noticed a strange brown stain on their teeth. The local water source had high amounts of flourine that helped the reminerization of their teeth, but gave their teeth an unsightly brown stain called "arkansas brown stain. The brown stain was from too much flourine in the water. Our tap water has flourine in it, but in smaller amounts.
