After all he did for his GOD, tapping stones kept him out of the promised land.

The rock striking incident provided the rationale, but the real reason Moses couldn't lead the Israelites into the Promised Land is because the Promised Land is a metaphor for heaven, so Moses and the Law did not have the power to get them there, just as the old law never had the power to save anyone.

He told Moses to through down a staff and it turned into a snake. He told Moses to hold up his hands, and the waters divided. He told Moses to strike the rock and when something didn't happen immediately, he struck it again in anger. You don't get it?

This is where Christians miss the boat, all the time. Not that they aren't saved but that they aren't obeying God.

Jesus told His disciples to take how much food? and pass it around to feed how many people? What did they do right? They simply obeyed. That's why the story is told. A huge obedience lesson.

This is where we miss it. Nobody said it had to be our faith. If our faith isn't getting the job done then it's time to simply obey and let Jesus do the rest.

Obedience. The one trap Christians are afraid to get themselves into, long enough to get their requests filled.

Here's the contract. "If my words abide in you and you abide in Me, ask the Father what you WILL and it will be given"
So what is Jesus' part in this? And what is ours? How can it be simpler?

Moses experienced some of the most ominous miracles by God, as long as he obeyed. Moses was privy to a lot of things that the people were not so Moses was set up as the first priest of the people. Blessed as he is and cherised by God, how did he dare doubt God?

How dare we?

God seeks the obedient. Moses filled that requirement but when he struck the rock what he did was much more then disobedience, he made it look like the water came because of his actions and not God. This is much more severe than plain disobedience it is playing God. This kept him oout of the promise land and he understood that. But God loved him so that he buried him and no man knows where.

he was suppose to speak to the stone, but moses was angry at the people and he hit the stone. The thing about God is if he speaks, you follow and never go your own way.

From Islamic perspective, Moses did not fail his mission or duty.

Moses main mission is to inform and remind his society the existence of one God. He has successfully done this. Even the "Fir'aun" has admitted the existence of one God before he died.

He was punished by God for disobedience. He struck the rock instread of speaking to the rock, as God asked him to do (Numbers 20:8-12).
