Why would god make a group of men who are oriented to males, if they cant have their choice, how can they be happy?

well if god made man and everything about man, being gay is something god did. orientation isnt something you can just ignore, and gay men being with women are generally not happy.
Imagine if you had to eat the food you hate cause someone says so.

i like all the answers stating that doing what god wants makes us happy. But i did what he wanted "goto church and such" i was bored.

The bible is way beyond our time...I don't understand why people are still follwing it. If God is so loving, he would LOVE everybody. No brainer there. Don't ask any questions, it would just bring more confusion. Just sleep it off with your man.

Because god does not hate gay people he made them that way. Just because a human made bible has a few verses about guys sleeping with guys does not give us the right to say we know what God approves and disapproves of.
PS: Comment of eating a food u don't like cause someone tell u so was awesome. Got me laughing :-)

Homosexuality is considered an act of the devil...but the devil is Lucifer- a fallen angel...didn't God create angels?
Since the angel had a choice to turn against God, doesn't man have a choice as well? So, is homosexuality really a sin? It considered so, but I no longer deal with christianity. I lean towards atheism or being agnostic...
Besides, it isn't mentioned directly in the bible...I may not be for gay men 100% (cuz they're competition, *wink*), but your question does prove some points. And I don't think people should jump up and shout "sin,"unless they can prove it with a bible quote.
Besides god made Adam and Eve...they had two sons...but how did they populate earth??? Did the sons sleep with Eve???

What us humans call "happy" and what is real happiness is only pre- determined by God ! Having sex in marriage can [I said "can"] make you happy because we have the psychological make-up to avoid messing-up our heads when it is done God's way. We will all be happy doing the drug heroine ... but the LTE (long term effects) mess up both, your body and mind ! See where I'm going with all of this? It is not really within ourselves to genuinely know what makes us happy and keep us that way !
P.S. "Neener" ... your experience serves as evidence that we do have a God-given choice in what we decide to do. Our society buys into the "they are born that way" crap. If that is the case, then the Muslim extremists are born that way too and can mass-murder all of us without any accountability. do not get me wrong - I am not "gay-bashing" (this isn't my intent) but I am addressing a growing trend of excusing ANY behaviour "good" or "bad" with "they are born that way" - ridiculous !!!

God, at the first place, created man and woman together. And that man and woman should be together, no other else.
Man has his own choice to sleep with his kind but his choice would not please God. To be happy living away from this choice is to set his mind focused on what GOD WANTS him to be and NOT to focus on what HE WANTS to be with.
It's like being obedient cuz God knows what is best and He knows that we will be happy eventually.

Mankind is free to choose his/her own destiny. According to the Bible, God will not interfere with any individual choice but will apparently lovingly encourage him/her away from any possible danger if he/she will just be still and listen to His direction. Pray for courage and He will give you the opportunity to be courageous, pray for strength, He will give the opportunity to be strong. It's easy to hate someone just because they don't conform to the "normal standard" but how much easier is it to give understanding, tolerance and and love? It is easy to do wrong and pretend it is not, but how much easier to do what you KNOW is right and have peace of mind? God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
God created Eve for Adam to be his life partner and helper. Take that literally as an example for relationships.

For homosexuals, celibacy is the way to go. A great many people are celibate and happy; it isn't a new idea.

Firstly, He did not "make" them that way.
I speak as a former bisexual. And After becoming a Christian, I thought long and hard about the way I had been living my life.
I realized that I HAD been choosing to be that way.
disagree with me if you [anyone] would like....But that's the way I feel about it.
We have a choice.
Follow Jesus and put our whole heart [or as much of it as is possible] in Him and He can change us inside and out.
And as far as being happy, You can be happy without having sex.
Tons of people do it.

Christians are against homosexuality because the bible says it's wrong. If you let "god" and "society" stop you from pursuing your wishes then you have been defeated. Don't let some book written by man (bible) stop you from exploring your sexuality.

The only way the gay haters are going to understand this one is to wake up one morning and find out that they can't legally marry the person of the opposite sex, that they love.
Put the shoe on the other foot and the laws would chage really quick.
