Throw warm-hot water on face a few times to open the pores and clean, then cold water right after to close them?

I don't want to get into all these creams and stuff again like I did when I had acne a few years ago, but I still want to keep my face looking nice. It gets oily throughout the day.

Any recommendations? If so, explain the process please.

Water alone will not clean the dirt and oils on your face. You also need a cleanser. You can use a mild soap or any facial cleanser. Some cleansers contain harsh chemicals, stay away from those. Also, since you dont use cosmetics, you don't need a oil-based cleanser.

well that is a good way of cleaning your face if that is your only concern. But each day your face needs vitamins and nutrients to keep your face healthy.

if washing is merely your objective, close the pores with ice cubes instead. Wrap the ice with towel and press this on your face until the ice dissolves into water. Your pores by then would by tight.

If you have oily skin then wash your face 3 times per day and for normal and dry skin you should wash only twice a day.

you should use a good face wash. What your doing is kinda like jumping it the shower and then getting out without putting on shampoo or conditioner. what your doing doesn't really clean your face.
