Hi Kenneth,

I rank and review cars and SUVs for U.S. News. The 2007 Yukon and the 2007 Tahoe are highly similar cars: they ride on the same platform and use many of the same parts. Both are two of the most fuel efficient full-size SUVs on the market and both are praised for being comfortable and easy to drive, especially for their size. Most drivers would have a hard time telling the two apart, though the Tahoe has slightly more angular and aggressive exterior styling.

While all Tahoes come standard with a four-speed automatic transmission, the highest trim of the Yukon, the Yukon Denali, has an availible a six speed automatic. This may not seem like a big deal, but the six-speed offers smoother shifts, more refined power delivery and marginally better fuel economy. The downside is that the Yukon Denali is much more expensive than a base Tahoe.

Basically, these two SUVs are highly similar and I would shop on price or personal preference. One isn't a whole lot better than the other. This time of year, you should be able to get some good deals from either Chevy or GMC on the 2007 models--but keep in mind that both of these SUVs will come out with hybrid power plants in 2008; some estimates say that with the hybrid engines, fuel economy is improved by 25%.

GMC Sierra and the Chevy Silverado are the two made via employing GM. the only actual huge distinction between the two vehicles are first of the decals conserving it Chevy/GM and the trim purposes. in my opinion the GMC's have the nicer trim purposes and additionally the upload-ons are nicer too.
