That is not normal. Depo is an awful drug, I was on it for years and it messed up my body very bad. I highly recommend you get on the pill. It is not worth the damage it does to your body to be on it.
Get a new doctor if yours tells you there is no sideeffects. Mine did the same, and made me feel crazy for telling her I was having bad symptoms.

Don't yell at me. I'll read your damn question, and I will give you an answer.
If your doctor does not care for you......FIND ONE WHO DOES AND GO THERE!!!!!
But my guess as to why you are bleeding probably does not deal with your anemia, but everything to do with the shot...it simply is not working for you. Instead of writing a five minute question and yelling at every one with your all caps rant, maybe you should do a 30 second search on depro-provera like I did and find out that the first, "less serious side effects" listed is irregular periods and bleeding.
Hope this helps

I was on Depo and had a horrible time. I bled for 7.5 months straight, 24hrs a day, every single day. It was the worst bc I had ever taken. It caused me to have severe anemia (which you say you have so I would be concerned if you got it recently). I've heard plenty of other stories of women that get all types of irregular bleeding. I would say you should really look into another type of bc because the side effects only get worse. Just my two cents. Hope you get better soon!

Try seeing another doctor, if you're on any other meds it might be interfering with it. I take a med. that speeds up my metabolism as a side affect, so it makes birth control less effective and depending on the does I was on it makes my period be on crack! I had it for 2 weeks, then a month, I stopped my BC and it went back to normal. So try another dr. and MAKE SURE they know what all you're taking.
I have the suckiest periods on earth, and we've been trying to treat my cramps for 2 years now. Get a good dr. who is willing to try different options.
Good luck, and let me know how it goes, I'm looking for an answer too!

Well, one thing's for sure. It seems to make you overreact to things, unless you are like this all the time. I told you, some people do bleed more, not less, with the shot! Does your doctor have suggestions on dealing with the anemia?

Its a normal thing on the shot. Like it or not, the shot dosent 100% garuntee to stop the bleeding. You really are normal. If it bothers you allot though, talk to your doctor or go to someone else (Family planning) and they can put you on a pill too. Thats what I had to do.

yes your anemia does have something to do with this....are you iron defient? if so that could be one of your problems you may have to take iron pills, which really help with your monthly periods...but going back to that subject... you could still be bleeding because of the excessive weight loss...it happened to me when I went from 140 to 120 after all my surgeries and I would suggest going to a gynocologist..they can give you medicine to stop bleeding and help your problem..suggest this medicine....it is Aygestin..in about a day or two you will stop bleeding....ask to take in two 5 mg pills for about 5 days then you will go one your period again and then it should go back to normal but if it doesn't go back to your gynocologist...hope this helps...

you can still have a period on the shot and my sister was on it and she lost so much weight they had to take her off of it. i'm surprised your doctor didn't tell you that you can still bleed on the shot. some people don't bleed at all, some have spotting, and some have their normal period.

Depo can cause breakthrough bleeding, especially when you have not been on it that long. Stress can also cause breakthrough bleeding. If you are concerned call your doc and explain what is going on.
