Sura 5.68 - Say: O followers of the Book! you follow no good till you keep up the Taurat and the Injeel and that which is revealed to you from your Lord;

If the Injeel is lost how is it you are to agree with the people of the book?
Is Allah not all knowing?

We have copies of the New Testament that predates the Qu'ran.

Sahar, God bless you...finally a Muslim who knows her Qu'ran,
The Qu'ran was to confirm the Gospel and the Torah which is the Bible for lack of a better word.
which would bring me to the question why is the Qu'ran not in agrement with the Gospel and Torah?

Nervous,This is taught by Muslims but is far form the truth. Many would use the council of Nicea to say this but the council wasin 325 and the Qu'ran was written in 600... The Qu'ran instructs Muslims to agree with the people of the book and to say your God is my God.
Now if these books do not exist...How can you agree with the people of the book or say anything to them?

Quran did not mention bible as such.

Quran tells about Tora and Ingeel (gospels) that these are words of God.

As far corruption is concerned Quran never says the books as such are corrup but the people who were reading them were translating them different from the true text. Quran is continuation of same message of biblical prophets and all other prophets of world.

First of all I am not an Expert.The Quran does say these things.But it is refering to the "original text" of The Torah and the Injeel (theOldTestament And The New Testament ).When the religious leaders of that time were discussing what books to leave in and what books to leave out they got rid of some of the books that they felt weren't right or authentic .And then during the translations some more of the messages were either lost or mistranslated. So there are no original Authentic Bibles left In the world Today.Many people think that that is why God Had to send down the Quran to the Prophet Mohamed.

The original Gospel as mentioned in the Quran is called the INJEEL.

It was written in Aramaic and has been lost forever.

The New Testament, written in GREEK, is an account of the life of Jesus and his gospel...... written by a dozen or so men many years after Jesus.

It contains many parts of the Injeel but also contains alot of personal opinions of men.........so we do not call it a total loss but we dont consider it infalliable divine revelation.
