that one probably don't even have a carburetor it has a throttle body fuel injection unit on it,it sort of looks like a carburetor but its not ,if the pedal is sticking on it it may be the cable that's causing the problems those do wear out, what your looking for mounts in under the breather,if your unsure about this have a good mechanic look it over for you, they may be able to find the problem really fast, good luck with it.

An 8 cylinder Vandura will be equipped with a Rochester Quadrajet 4Bbl.It is on the top of the engine, fastened to the intake manifold and under the air cleaner. Most of this is not too visible. To gain access to it you will have to remove the engine cover(doghouse)inside the van. When you are sitting in the drivers seat, your right knee will be near or against it.The ashtray door can be removed by taking the 2 (black plastic)pivots out. They snap out horizonally. This will give access to 2 Phillips head bolts. There are 2 lower bolts also. Secondary cover is loose and ready to remove.AFTER disconnecting the cigarette lighter wire. Remaining are 4 bolts securing the primary cover. These are usually 1/2".When this cover is removed you can see the air cleaner. It is round(maybe 1')and black.Take off the wing nut, fresh air tube, breather tube(going to the valve cover)and when loose you'll find 1 vacuum hose underneath.Remove hose and aircleaner and the carburetor is staring you in the face. When this is easy to see, operate the gas pedal to see/feel what is sticking.Check transmission kickdown (TV)cable, cruise servo linkage or throttle cable itself.

To get to that part of the engine on GM vans like that, you have an access panel inside the van in the center in front. If you get that off, then there is easy access to the top of the engine. Its a pain having a van like that and working on it.

It's under the covers that are on top of the motor. You have to remove both units from the interior where you will then have access at the air cleaner assembly. Remove that and there's the carb and throttle linkages to see what's wrong.
