PS3 is $499 and the Xbox 360 Elite is $479. $20 dollar difference...
PS3 games produced are on Hd 50gig blueray (more space for better graphics without sacrificing game levels and game size..) GTA4 developers even stated that the game will have better graphics and gaming on the ps3 version and are having issues with the 360 version because of 8gig dvd game format... They may have to make the 360 version on multiple disc so if you like getting out of your chair alot while playing, .....
360-elite games produced on dual layered 8gig dvds
game developers are finding the 360 format to limiting and finding that they have to sacrifice game graphics or gaming levels and challenges...
Ps3 for the extra $20 you get a full HD entertainment system that also surfs the internet. You can goto any website and watch or download videos like YouTube...You can access your email and print it etcc...
Ps3 Blueray hd movie player that also upscales regular dvds movies to HD...It also upscales ps2 games to hd..
Ps3 comes with rechargeable controllers...
Ps3 comes with free online play and Wifi
All of the above the 360-elite can't do.
360 and elite -For hd movies you have to buy the hddvd player for $200. For
360 elite for quick charge kit you have to buy it for $20.
360 elite no interent browser
Ps3 hdmi 1.3 (supports deep color)
360-elite- 1.2 doesn't support deepcolor 1.3
Ps3 Nvidia RSX GPU Graphics at least two years ahead of it's time. And programmers aren't even close to using it's full potential yet.
360-elite is hardware locked into outdated DX9 graphics-Game programmers are developoing for DX10 (full 4d and 3d motion realism)
THe ps3 8cell broadband processors. CPU-Designed specifically for highspeed calculations (Games Capable of more AI charactors )
Xbox 360 -Elite-- The New 65NM CHip....Isn't any different then what they used in the 360 core except it cost less to produce....
Ps3 you can buy any external usb harddrive and hook it up loaded with music videos , etc...You can buy any brand 2.5 ata harddrive and upgrade the harddrive size for ps3...
THe elite and 360 requires Microsoft harddrives only- for a 20gig it's $100, for the 120 it's $189
360 -elite for wifi you have to pay an additional $100 and online gaming is $50 a year...And for that $50 a year to play online you also get stuck with third party in menu advertising...
To use 60% of what the 360 and elite can do you have to buy the addons and you'll spend over $750 before you even insert a game.
THe elite and new 360s hdmi, 65nm, red ring of death--Microsoft has no Idea what the cause is, You can't fix what you can't find. So yes they are all vulnerable.
Get the ps3 you can use it for so much more. We own all three. THe wii, elite and ps3,

As far as graphics and cost wise, the PS3 is the better buy. Yes, the PS3 does cost more, but the WiFi comes built in, it is Bluetooth, and it plays DVD's, Blu-Ray PS3 games, Blu-Ray DVD's, PS1 games, PS2 games and more. The 60GB PS3 comes with so much more for $20 bucks more than the 360 Elite does.
The only thing the 360 has is a better online gameplay experience, but the online gameplay is great for the PS3 also and it is free.
As far as games, the PS3 will have better upcoming exclusive games. The only new exclusive 360 game that most 360 owners will even buy until the end of this year is Halo 3 and the PS3 has way more exclusive titles coming out than just one big game.

In terms of cost, don't be fooled. While the PS3 costs $600, you get more for your money. You get WiFi, a Blu-Ray player, multi-format card reader, a larger harddrive and free online play. To get all that stuff for the 360 would cost you closer to $900 - $1000.
Right now, the graphics are pretty much even. But again don't be fooled. The 360 has been out for a year longer. Developers have already maxxed out the capabilities of the 360. Unless, they start making HD/DVD exclusive games, Xbox 360 games will look the same in 2 years as they do right now. Meanwhile, developers haven't even scratched the surface with the playstations power. With the Blu-Ray discs, game-makers are going to be able to pack so much into their games. Final fantasy 13 and Rockstar's PS3 exclusive title are going to be crazy.
The big advantage that 360 has is catalog. Since it's been out a year longer and is easy to program for, XBox has a way better list of games to play. In a year or two it might even up, but as of right now the library belongs to XBox. For every good online game on the PS3 (Warhawk, Resistance, etc.) there are five out for the XBox.
But, with the PS3 you don't have to worry about the Red Ring of Death. I've heard of people getting the RROD right out of the box.

Yooh Dude I own both a 360 and ps3 and I suggest you get a xbox360. Ps3 slim has many of its good features being taken because of the price drop. Xbox has a high failure rate. I am a ps2 fanboy..the best system of all time. Xbox has more exclusives and generally more appealing multiplayer games. Ps3 has more single player games, which will get repetitive. Xbox Good Exclusives: Mass Effect Fable 2 Shadow Complex Splinter Cell Conviction-Not out yet Alan Wake-Not out yet Gears of War Halo 3 Left 4 dead Ninja Gaiden 2 Dead or Alive 4(one of the best fighting games ever) Forza 3(Completely Destroyed GT5 Prologue) WAY MORE DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT GTA Lost and Damned Fallout Expansion Packs More Arcade and Xbox Original Downloadable games Xbox also has a better online system. Way more enchanced than the ps3 online system. Don't worry, theres a way to get a web browser on the xbox :) The only thing that it is missing is a blue ray player. Ps3 being able to run 50 gb games does NOT make a difference. Everything will look the same infanct xbox has better graphics. Xbox also oftens has contest and special deals and giveways on its dashboard which is updated every couple of months. Who cares if Xbox live isn't free, playing those games local is really fun. Btw you get 3 month free when you get the system. On the other hand Ps3 has a very limited amount of good games but have really good quality. It has a blue ray player, but online system is not the best. Ps3 is not easy to hack and is costly. $299 for the slim? Damn thats still expensive. Ps3 good exclusives: Motorstorm Metal Gear Solid 4 Little Big Planet Uncharted series God of War 3(soon) Killzone 2 Resistance(sucks compared to Gears) Heavy rain-Not out yet Although these games will get boring after a short period of time and will lay around. Killzone 2 doesn't have local multiplayer and resistance is just horrible. Most of these games are third person meaning single player except Uncharted 2 which will have co-op lol. Blue ray is completely useless unless you have a hd tv. I do so thats Why i use it. But the online sucks. Ps3 home is really cool and its ability to stream youtube videos directly on the web browser. You can also connect your psp to your ps3 and do stuff. But Ps3 doesn't have a lot of DLC other than some arcade games and map packs. You are buying a gaming system to play games. If you want a blue ray player just buy one, but Xbox 360 is a better gaming console. It will not break down, thats just people exaggerating. Think about it, your not gonna use the bluetooth and all those funky little addons. Xbox also lets you stream music, videos and photos from your pc.. No offense, but ps3 barely has any good exclusives. . They aren't good. Ratchet and Clank, killzone 2, and Resistance 2 are really bad games. Ratchet and Clank is repetitive, the ps2 versions are better, Killzone 2 has no LOCAL MULTIPLAYER...they spent there time on graphics just like Black which sucked, and Resistance 2 is just a bad version of gears which takes place in WW2 and has pretty bad weapons and enemy sprites. MGS4 is the game worth respecting, but The Raiden Version is coming the xbox. Little Big Planet is a ok game but not the best. Xbox on the other hand has a good...When I say good I mean Amazing games. Halo 3, Gears of War 2, and Left 4 Dead have the highest replay value. Trust me dude, you won't get tired of playing those games unline Resistance, which has a bad online multiplayer and MGS4 which only has a good Campaign. Ps3 has mostly single player games, but on the 360 there are more multiplayer games and better online. The best online game for ps3 is Call of Duty 4 which is also available on xbox 360 and has a better online multiplayer. What made me buy a 360 is when they announced that Tekken 6 will be coming onto a 360. All the good Sony Exclusives came/coming onto the xbox like Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid and Tekken. Xbox also has more Downloadable Content. Such as more map packs and more game addons. If you are a Fan of Grand Theft Auto 4, You should definently get xbox since they have a big new story addon called Lost and Damned and Coming out with a new one. Fallout 3 also has more Downloadable Content for Xbox. Who cares if Ps3 has the wireless adapter pre installed into it. Just use a ethernet cable or a laptop. It'll work..You don't even need live..the games already have such a In conclusion, I recommend the xbox 360 over the ps3 slim because it has better games, online and gameplay. My xbox has never broke down. It won't break down if you take care of it.Blue ray and Metal Gear solid are the only thing I bought my ps3 for. Don't bother buying Ratchet or Clank or GT5 for Ps3 slim if you get one. Out of these choices, I would stick with a ps2 because in a year or so, the new xbox or ps3 will probably come out. Ps2 has had the best exclusives ever. EDIT: Jessy says that it has true 1080p...are you stupid? Xbox 360 can hook up to my tv which can go to 1080p and that is HD. You can get web browser on your xbox 360, use Windows Media Center.... Are you kidding me...Xbox 360 has way more popular games. Helloo!!! Halo 3 and Left 4 Dead Xbox 360 is not heavy compared to ps3. The ps3 slim is really ugly and the original ps3 is heavy. The new 360s don't heat up as they used to....I have owned mine for 2 years and I haven't gotten RROD Ps3 has issues, you can't even clean the blueray drive. Who cares if Ps3 has free online, it has so many issues. Do you realize how many people weren't able to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 properly on the first day? Their service had so many shutdowns and friend invitations were a huge problem. Xbox 360 does not have any of these problems period.

Almost a third of XBOX 360 are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 3%.
Let's compare them
PS3 has 8 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3x2
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 50 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual DVD (9.5 gb).
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in card reader (except 20 gb version), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $
Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of doom" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.
Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.
In 2008 we'll get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4 and other great exclusives.
PS3 online world will be free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.
In some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".
The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console.
Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years.

XBOX 360... it's cheaper, more games, includes exclusive titles such as Halo, Gears of War, Counterstrike and about a hundred more.. It's the ultimate system for online play.. if you're not planning on playing multi-player, then I'd consider the PS3, otherwise this isn't even close... 360 is the way to go.

Graphics Wise
PS3 got 1080p HD, plus the graphics still look nicer than Xbox360 on a normal TV.
Xbox360 highest HD can go is only 720p
Cost Wise
PS3 60gig will go down from $500 to $300 bucks very close to Xbox360 plus you get a console that can read Blu-Ray, DVD, CD. The console give you HD power, (you need a HDTV of course), four USB slots for mouse, keyboard, to charge your i-pod, controllers, to tranfers songs to PS3, charge your bluetooth headset for Warhawk (good game), a console that won't give you the 3 red rings of Death, won't overheat, can connect up to 7 controllers, free Demo, Movie trailers, Game trailers and free online communty. (you have to pay for the online service for Xbox360)
Online Play
PS3 give you free online play while you have to pay to play online in Xbox360. If you want to play Online in Xbox 360 you have to pay and plus internat bills if add it all up it will more than PS3, while PS3 you get free online gaming you only have to pay the company that provide you with internet service (modem guy)
Game wise
Most of Xbox360 game will be on PS3 (bio shock, MOH airborne,) but PS3 only game are better than Xbox360 only games (Haze, warhawk, resistance:fall of man,MGS4,killzone 2 and more) all that games with HD.
Plus, PS3 controllers with rumble shock is coming to PS3 soon, so celebrate. PS3 wins dind, ding, ding
