Yes, I enjoy the bitter taste of beer. Some people can't stand beer but it's my preference whenever I am drinking.

Yeah, and I drink different beers at different times and I have had many good ones (Pilsner Urquell) and many bad ones (Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA---waaay too hoppy).
If I am having steak, I like Pilsner Urquell (Michale Jackson, the original beer hunter, chose this as the best beer in the world)
In the winter I will have darker beers like Leinenkugels creamy dark or occasionally a Murphy's Irish Stout...
Normally in the summer if I am home I'll have a MIller Lite a couple of times a week before dinner, or if I am having really spicy food, Miller Lite is good.
If I am casually drinking at a bar I might have a Weis beer
I recently had a good Organic beer from Lakeshore Brewery, if you are into that, although that is on the bitter side and wouldn't be a good introductory beer.

It really depends on the beer. The pseudo-beer that is brewed by A-B, Miller, Coors, and any other macro brewery is often disgusting and exists for only one purpose: to get people drunk on a budget.
But real beer exists for more than just it's alcoholic content. It contains a full range of flavors that are delicate on the one hand, but also very present on the other. Part of the reason why I drink beers such as Yuengling, Samuel Adams, various microbrews, and imports such as Guinness, Murphy's, and Smithwick's, is not because I want to get drunk (I have never been drunk, and I don't plan on ever being drunk), but because I want to experience a truly complex drink. The other reason is because a really good beer like Samuel Adams or Yuengling (or the others I mentioned) goes well with the food I most like, which is meat.
So yes, I really do like the taste of beer, but it has to be a real beer.

No, I don't like beer, and that's due to the bitter taste. But I wonder when I watch food/travel programmes, at events like Oktoberfest, people describe some beers as being sweet, malty, fruity. Being from a small country, there's only a limited selction of beers available to me, and I really wish to try a beer that's not bitter/rough-tasting.

actually, i do like the taste of beer. i skipped all the domestic bud/miller/coors and just started with sam adams. not the greatest, but probably the best thing on tap at a small restaurant.
also, someone mentioned beer being too bitter and wondered how it could be fruity, malty. if you want a fruity beer, try a fruit lambic OR a hefeweizen (german wheat beer -- it has yeast in the bottle that continues to ferment, if its a real hefeweizen, so it looks cloudy but the yeast makes a nice fruity flavor, and isn't (too) bitter. Malty would be from higher malt beers, which isn't at all like malt liquor. malty beers would be your dark ales. newcastle wouldn't count, it's too thin. malty beers tend to have a bit of thickness to them. guinness would probably be the best example, as a popular stout.

I enjoy the taste of beer and trying different brands and types of beer. I lived in Germany for several years and really came to appreciate the art of brewing beer and also the tradition.
Bitburger Pils is my favorite German beer. (BIER!)

Yup beer tastes awesome. At least good beer does. Here's a tip for everyone that doesn't like beer: stop drinking swill like natty light and you might find beer to your liking.

You usually grow out of it.
Just like the first time one drank coffee when he/she was young. It was a bitter taste that they hated.
As they grow older, beer or any other alcoholic drink can taste bitter or "disgusting" but later on, you might enjoy it.
for me, I rather not want to taste the beer as much. If i do, I usualy add a lemon to kill some of the bitterness.
I gulp it down usually too =]
The feeling is what counts .
