Tattoo on lower back?

Question

I want to get another tattoo and i am thinking about my lower back because the design that I have would look perfect there. I am just worried that people will say it is a "tramp stamp" and that I am slutty. I AM NOT! I have been married for almost two years now and my husband wants me to get it and doesn't care where I put it.
What is y'alls opinion on the lower back tattoos???

The tat I want says "Till Death Us Do Part" in pretty cursive letters with pretty swirly things on each side...not slutty! =)

I already have a tattoo on my foot. I like putting them in places where I can hide them if I need to...

Lol I don't dress slutty either...no mid-driff shirts or low rise jeans here

I have 5 tatts all names of my kids, partner and husband. I think it will look very nice and should get it done with no regrets.

Tattoos are all about self expression and should be something that is meaningful to the person. It has nothing to do with anyone else! So I am saying if you really want the tattoo and it is something you feel strongly about then by all means go for it!

However, I would have a little concern for anyone that has to ask what others think. It sounds like if you are not sure about it and asking others what they might think then maybe it is not time yet.

I would put it on the back burner or in the back of your mind for a while and just let it sit. If after a few months you find that you keep coming back to the idea and really want it still then get it. Just don't let anyone dictate what you do with your body. Especially since you are married and in a committed and loving relationship who care what someone else thinks!

The tramp stamp thing is so ridiculous. If you want it there, get it there! Especially if you say your design would look great in that spot. I would never put down any girl who has a tattoo there because my 2 very best friends got tattoos placed in that spot. I would have gotten mine there but i'm pretty big on discreet places and being different I guess. If you don't like the fact so many girls have it there, maybe there's another spot you would like, like the small spot between the shoulders, the back of the neck, the hipbone, etc. Don't worry about what other people say. If it's cute and you like it, that's all that matters! Stereotypes are absolutely ridiculous. Good luck!

I don't want to say anything judgmental or that might seem sexist. I think the lower back is a fine place for a tattoo, it's just not a place I like to see on a female along with things like midriffs, butt cheeks hanging out of shorts, and plunging necklines. I enjoy it when women are fully clothed, but that's just me. Though I would never call a women a slut, I have to admit I feel saddened with they walk around dressed in spaghetti straps and daisy dukes. It's a little off topic, but when you're talking about people seeing a tattoo on your lower back, I just felt it kind of applied. Good luck with whatever you choose.

If you get a lower back tattoo, people WILL call it a tramp stamp. I know me and almost all of my friends point them out every time we see them. They are so common now too, why be like everybody else?

Also, When you grow old and your grandchildren ask you about it, what are you going to say? Imagine your grand-child talking to his friend one day and his friend going "look at that girl with the tramp stamp" and then your grand-child realizing that his own GRANDMOTHER has one.

It's a bad idea.

just a little bit overdone. why not get it on your upper back, between your shoulder blades. you have the same amount of room, and it may look nice with the curve of your shoulders and neck.
To comment on a few above me- I am going to be getting a tattoo on my chest(not talking about a little rose on my boob, but an actual chest piece tattoo, and consider that way less "tramp stamp" than lower back- it's not cliche to get a chest piece)
And the naked chic tats on women- I would have to disagree, i think most guys would think that's hot, and it's on my wish list - sexy housewife (that's what I am right now lol). Only thing preventing me is i'm still breastfeeding at the moment.

Basically, one persons idea of sexy is opposite of anothers. I used to want the "tramp stamp" badly (years ago), but nowdays, all those teeny bopper college girls have them, same as japanese kanji, and tribal designs, so i kind of grew out of it. A little bit outdated, but to each his own!!!

Lower back tattoos are fine, I have one of a playboy bunny there, which everyone goes OOO people are gonna think your slutty, but i dont wear tops where anyone can see it. The only time someone can see mine is at the beach or swimming pool!!
What you want to get done sounds like an awesome idea, ive seen something like it before and it looked great!

As long as it's an appropriate area, and the tattoo is also appropriate, no problem. Your lower back is a perfectly suitable place for a tattoo, I mean if you were getting it done on your chest, then the whole tramp, slut, and all that stuff may slightly apply. lol.

Lower back tattoos are ultra sexy! If its something you'd want I'd say go for it, just make sure its something creative and unique.. Don't pick the same thing everyone else has on their lower back (aka the 'tramp stamp lol) and you'll be fine. Much luck! :)

Sweetie! don't let anyone judge who you are based on a tattoo. If you really want one go for it! I think they look really hot! I'm sure your hubby will agree.Just pick a pretty feminie design. It's not as though your going to be showing it off at inappropiate times. If you feel a little self-concious about it Why not have it placed hidden like just underneath your belly button but right above your bikini line, that way hubby can appreciate. ~~**4-his-eyes-only**~~

People are judgemental by nature and anything that helps to "Label" a person only gives them more fuel.

So, to hell with them! YOU know you are not a tramp and YOU know you are not slutty. So, go for it! I would not mind getting one, but I am very picky and have yet to decide what I want to do.
