Kohl's has some, the color is called plum, but they truly are purple. One pattern is square plates and the other in round. The link I've attached for you will go straight to the dishes I saw. There may be other styles in purple, but I'll let you dig around in their site.

Happy Hunting!

I have Noritake Colorwave - comes in purple and lilac. Pretty expensive.
I think a set of dishes may not be the best gift because then she is stuck with your selection and style to complete the whole dining theme - for a very long time. She may not find pieces to match. Dishes need a table cloth or place mats, napkins, etc., serving bowls/platters.

How about buying some accessories instead, a large bowl for fruit? A wooden tray you could spray paint the right shade? Candle holders with tall purple pillar candles? A purple pillow "WELCOME". Purple guest towels or kitchen towels. Purple set of glasses for wine or her favorite drink?

Depending on her taste of design, you might want to try a local pottery artist, and see if you can have a set done just for her. That would make it extra special.. and, she would have an easier time to get replacements than a pattern from a store that was discontinued. I know / been there!..
There are many talented artists that can do all kinds of pottery designs. Call your Universities , craft stores, and pottery stores for names.
Otherwise the internet searches i would suggest.

Buy white.
Go to craft store & get liquid tube embroidery paint.
Paint the edges with swirls of various purple & lavender.
Be personalized, too.

www.dinnerwaredepot.com

This site has different brands of dishes and they each have a color chart. I looked up two different ones to start and they both had purple (they call it plum).

Have fun shopping!

i would try places like bed, bath, and beyond...or if you have one where you live, try a pier 1 imports (or their website) ...they have all kinds of different non-traditional, modern things. good luck
two other places would be a place called 'crate and barrel' or even 'ikea'!!
