I work in Admin for an earthworks company, now the opertations manager, who is not my boss, is such a horrible person to me and the other staff in the office. As i am only 18 and been here less than i year he think he is so much better than me. i use to fight back when he was on one of his tantrums but now i just cant be bothered. As i am trying not to loose my job over him i am really really trying to do my best to keep it. Everything that goes wrong he will blame on me, abuse me (verbaly) and then lie to the boss about it saying that i did it all wrong, when i can clearly prove i did not have anything to do with it. He will continue to stuff up and stab me and everyone in the office in the back, and for some reason my boss continues to believe and stick by him. What am i doing wrong. I do not want to leave becuase it is good money and i am learning a lot here. If you can give me advice on what to do or anything please, this is making me so sick and stressed!

If you have a human resource person/department you need to go talk to them, talk to your personal doctor as well so they can document this. This sounds like a hostle work envirmonment and it is against the law and there are remedies for it. But you being the victim and the other victims there have to take a stand. It is hard, I have been there but if you are strong enough to hold out and file complaints/concerns with the right people they do have to handle it and if they don't handle it or you lose your job because of it and you have it documented then there are law suits for the rest of it. Hang in there.

Unfortunately, your best option might be to look for another job. It is very difficult to stop bad behavior in someone who is in a higher position than you are. Trying to do so will take up a lot of your energy and cause you more stress. If you don't have a good chance of convincing your boss to make changes by disciplining this guy for bad behavior, don't bother! You have to decide whether it is worth staying for a while longer to gain experience. It might be, because you would have a longer time to look for a good job to move into. In the long run, though, working around a petty tyrant who is allowed to belittle other people and throw tantrums is definitely not worth it! Choose to be good to yourself. Eventually, you will find a work envirnment that is less toxic. In my career, I have found that your coworkers can make or break a job. I'd rather work at a lower paying job and work with good people than have it the other way around. I value my sanity and peace of mind too much to be in that kind of situation!
