When I was young I was always a 'morning' person, now I go to bed much later and get up later. I was wondering if it changed for others as they aged.

Thanks everyone, it's good to see I'm not the only one who doesn't follow a schedule.

Over the years I'v discovered that I only need about 5 hours solid sleep and since I'v discovered Q&A I've been staying up a lot later.

It's getting worse and worser for me !! I used to at least be able to get to sleep around 3a.m.....now it's 5 or 5:30 a.m....and at that time I don't even have anyone to "play with" on Y/A. Of course a lot of people are in different time zones...guess that would be the time to meet people from Japan etc.etc. I usually get off the computer around 1:30 or 2...and watch tv (nothing much good on that late) . Finally give it up around 5 and sleep till 1 pm. If I get up early in the morning..there's nothing to do. I do dishes and laundry etc. in the afternoon. It just makes the day too long. Need to get a part time job at least. Had one at a Bed and Breakfast...but it fizzled out after 10 years...it was right on the ocean. O wail....3 hrs. to go...any suggestions? I'm so WIDE AWAKE ...even at 5 a.m.

I need about 6 1/2 to 7 hours of sleep at night. Usually that is sleeping 11:30 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. The amount of sleep I need has been the same since I was a teenager. The difference is that I used to go to bed around 1:00 a.m. or later when I was younger.

Just the opposite for me...I was always very late to bed; very late to rise...now I go to bed early and get up early [despite my inclination to sleep in!]

I've always been a night person but until I retired I had to get to bed so I could get up at 6:00. But now.....no rules.

I have been a night person all my life. It was sooooooo difficult to get up & go to work every day.

Now that I am retired I relish every moment. I get a late night project under way & I don't have to quit if I don't want to.

I have a disease & these really are the golden years for me. I am enjoying every minute of it.

I stay up late, because I don't have to get up early for work. I always was a night owl. I appreciate the quietness at night. I use my computer then.

I go to bed earlier as I get older, or else I will end up sleeping in the recliner! But I get up early.

I crash around 9 PM most nights. Sleep about 6 hours then I'm up. Just can't stay awake any longers. Sometimes I'll be able to get back to sleep for another hour. If I'm "sleeping in" you can be sure I'm sick.
