I'm 14-years-old (Just in case you wanted to know) and my problem is that I don't believe in God. Just a few minutes ago my parents found out about that and they're pissed off at me... I want to believe that there is a God, but I don't have any proof that he does. Can you help me believe in him PLEASE?

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The
Almighty.
He asks one of his new students to stand and...
Prof: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.
Prof: Is God good?
Student: Sure.
Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student: Yes.
Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would
attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn’t. How is this God good then? Hmm?
Student: Silent.
Prof: You can’t answer, can you? Let’s start again, young fellow. Is God good?
Student: Yes.
Prof: Is Satan good?
Student: No.
Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student: Silent.
Prof: Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student: Yes.
Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it?
Student: Yes.
Prof: So who created evil?
Student: Silent.
Prof: Is there sickness, Immorality, Hatred, Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world,
don’t they?
Student: Yes, sir.
Prof: So, who created them?
Student: Silent.
Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell
me, son...Have you ever seen God?
Student: No, sir.
Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student: No, sir.
Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory
perception of God for that matter?
Student: No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.
Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student: Yes.
Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn’t
exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.
Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Prof: Yes.
Student: And is there such a thing as cold?
Prof: Yes.
Student: No sir. There isn’t. (The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little
heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which
is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a
word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not
the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it. (There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?
Student: You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light,
normal light, bright light, flashing light... But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing
and its called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it were you would be able to make
darkness darker, wouldn’t you?
Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is
death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something
we can measure. Sir, science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism,
but has never seen, much less fully understood, either one. To view death as the opposite of
life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the
opposite of life: just the absence of it.
Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir? (The Professor shakes his
head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)
Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove
that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a
scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)
Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain? (The class breaks
out into laughter!)
Student: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt
it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable,
demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do
we then trust your lectures, sir? (The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face
unfathomable.)
Prof: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.
Student: That is it sir... The link between man and God is FAITH. That is all that keeps things
moving and alive.

Suppose you find a watch in the middle of a desert. What would you conclude? Would you think
that someone dropped the watch? Or would you suppose that the watch came by itself?
Of course no sane person would say that the
watch just happened to emerge from the
sand. All the intricate working parts could
not simply develop from the metals the lay buried
in the earth. The watch must have a manufacturer.
If a watch tells accurate time we expect the manufacturer
must be intelligent. Blind chance cannot
produce a working watch.
But what else tells accurate time? Consider the
sunrise and sunset. Their timings are so strictly
regulated that scientists can publish in advance
the sunrise and sunset times in your daily newspapers. But who regulates the timings of sunrise
and sunset? If a watch cannot work without an intelligent maker, how can the sun appear to rise
and set with such clockwork regularity? Could this occur by itself?
Consider also that we benefit from the sun only because it remains at a safe distance from the
earth, a distance that averages 93 million miles. If it got much closer the earth would burn up.
And if it got too far away the earth would turn into an icy planet making human life here impossible.
Who decided in advance that this was the right distance? Could it just happen by chance?
Without the sun plants would not grow. Then animals and humans would starve. Did the sun just
decide to be there for us? The rays of the sun would be dangerous for us had it not been for the
protective ozone layer in our atmosphere. The atmosphere around earth keeps the harmful ultraviolet
rays from reaching us. Who was it that placed this shield around us?
We need to experience sunrise. We need the sun’s energy and its light to see our way during the
day. But we also need sunset. We need a break from the heat, we need the cool of night and we
need the lights to out so we may sleep. Who regulated this process to provide what we need?
Moreover, if we had only the sun and the protection of the atmosphere we would want something
more-beauty. Our clothes provide warmth and protection, yet we design them to also look beautiful.
Knowing our need for beauty, the designer of sunrise and sunset also made the view of them
to be simply breathtaking.
The creator who gave us light, energy, protection and beauty deserves our thanks. Yet some people
insist that he does not exist. What would they think if they found a watch in the desert? An
accurate, working watch? A beautifully designed watch? Would they not conclude that there does
exist a watchmaker? An intelligent watchmaker? One who appreciates beauty? Such is God who
made us. Subhan Allah (Glory be to God)!

Hey young world, its ok? The proof of God is not just left to anyone in the bible alone but God is omipresent and can be every where. The Lord God that formed man knew sin would seperate Him from them (mankind) that is why he warned Adam and Eve to obey him (Gen.2:16-17). The secret in knowing his existence is in Jesus because He becoming the son of God is God in the flesh (John 1:1-3,14). If you develope a relationship with him ,he will lead you to the Father (John 14:6). Read these scriptures of the Bible and you will see if ,you believe from your heart on Jesus. Genesis 2:1-3,7, Dueteronomy 4:29, Psalm 34:4-5, 90:1-2, Ecclesiastes 12:1; 3:1-4, Isaiah 9:6-7, 53:1-12, John 14:6-7, Acts 2:17-21 and 1 John 5:7. These may seem like alot and maybe you have not gotten this much in one time. I wanted to help build up your faith in God like the scriptures say ok. (Romans 10:17 & Hebrews 11:1,6) Knowning him and being known of him is a beautiful exsperience young brother. You seek him for yourself. God bless you.

Who made this earth? Who put the stars and sun and the moon in place and in such order? All the stars and other planets, etc. They are all in order. Why don't they run into each other?

Did man do this? Can man create even a lowely ant? Where did our universe come from?

With everything that exists the same question can be asked. Where did this come from. Man is not capable of creating any of these things. So who did create them?

Only a Supreme Being could have done this. This Supreme Being we call God.

Even if you don't believe in Him at present. Pray to Him to give you the help you need to believe in Him. Tell Him you want to believe in Him. Speak to Him as you would to your best friend or, if you prefer as you would to your father (if your relationship with your father is good).

God wants us to think of Him as our loving Father for that is who He is. He loves us more than any human can. God's love is immense.

Hi Sleepy..

Firstly well done in not believing as that is the first step to finding the true real god if he exists. I say this as it shows you are prepared to question with logic and find real answers. Many people have for either their own personal reasons or due to haste have said this or that in response to your question and only the person that claims the bible has fulfilled prophecies has offered any real evidence to question even though i personally would question that evidence first before taking it at face value.

I had a friend who had the same issue as you and well helped that person find FACTUAL SCIENTIFIC facts pointing to a higher being and god and left the rest to her. If you really want to first see if there is a GOD and then believe then all I ask is that you have an open mind. If there is a god then you are sure to find him and if there isnt a god then spending a little time to prove he doesnt exist can only again be to your advantage. Be also prepared that if you find the true god that what you thought god to be may differ to your parents and friends etc.

The proof I offer to you is found at these websites:

www.HarunYahya.com. On the left click on movie downloads and find first the video titled: 'Miracle of the Quran'. There isnt anything in this video but scientific evidence. This ofcos is open to all to view. Then after watching that Video if that wasnt enough next see the video: 'The End of Times' which will offer an insight into prophecies. Then watch any other movie you want or read the free books on the site.

After all this I recommend you watch videos on Youtube.com. Search for 'Zakir Naik'. A famous lecturer that has debated the above science in a video: search for 'Zakir Naik and william Campbell'. After viewing that video view: search for 'Zakir Naik Athiest'. Again ponder on all you watch and read and then watch his other videos and then those of AHMED DEEDAT on youtube.com Videos by thess guys are on there and since its free all it can do is open you mind and increase your knowledge. Finally at the end ask in your heart if there is a god that he helps you find him. Leave the rest to him and happy viewing.

ps: on the youtube videos they usually end their debates (i forgot to mention that these lecturers such as Zakir Naik actually debate or discuss their findings with others so its also a pretty fun watch anyway) with a question and answers section which usually offers more understanding and insight.

Hope this helps x and happy viewing x

Anger is a fear based emotion so when your parents get angry ask them what is their true fear and maybe they can work through thier own problems. As far as believing in something that most call God what ever you concieve is in control or has ordered kaos thoughouut the universe be at peace with your own thoughts. You will come to your own conclusions with your own critical thinking. Every person comes to a conclusion of what they are tought and what they percieve you just have a different road to travel. Enjoy the journey and do not be coerced into believing because if it is not your belief you will not have peace in that belief.

Don't be hard on yourself.. I know this is an old post but believe in God is NOT a choice. You are either convinced or yer not.. OR you just dont know what is fact. Christians often get this wrong by saying it's a choice. If belief was a choice, I'd be able to "choose" to believe in the tooth fairy and I simply cannot so it's not a choice

Have you ever read the Bible?? If you will notice around you come of your friends may be a little different than the rest. They maybe Christian. We are supposed to be a seperate from the world. It is not easy in this day and age to be different but a real Christian will be. There are very few movies I can watch anymore, basically no tv, praise and worship music is all thats left, the other has nasty lyerics, but I do believe Jesus died on a cross for me and you. He died for our sins. In the book of Romans read chapter 3.
It tells about how we are all sinners and could not look at the Glory of God. John 3:16, look it up. It says God sent his son to die in our place. Now if we become born again we can go to Heaven when we die. Are your Parents and Grandparents Christians, think about never seeing them again. Believe me God is real, and he loves you, the Bible says so, and the Bible doesn't lie, the devil is the liar and the father of it. John 8:44. If you would like to get saved you can right now, if you believe in Jesus. You don't have to be in a Church to get Saved. But you will want go when you do, it just draws you there. Jesus relieves burdens, just pray this prayer, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

Do you believe some of the things you read in the news papers and books......... If so pick up the bible and read..... I see you are a skeptic so let me write something that might persuade omething.... But are you honestly looking for answers? Will you accept evidence as it would be accepted before a court of law? Are you an inquirer or spiritual subversive? Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator? (Read in the bible Romans chapter 1 verse 25) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those hings which are not convenient (Romans 1:28) Jesus Christ threw out this challenge.... "He that is of God hears God's
words You therefore hear them not, because you don't believe in God. (John 8:47) You can doubt to your own peril (2 Thessalonians 2:1and 2:12) So.... The way to find out whether or not a thing is true and worthy of ones acceptance is to put it to a personal test.. (Psalms 34:8) Read the bible... at 14 you have your whole life ahead of you.... Some people would be upset with you but if they think about it at one time every one feels the same way. The only proof there is is the Bible and what you feel in your heart when you believe in him and how you feel when you frist accept him as real and onto your heart. You need to find some one you can trust and talk to them about this and hopefully they can answer you questions

who gave you the strength to get out of bed this morning? in fact who allowed you to be alive this morning? who provides you with the strength to make it through the tough times in your life? who keeps you safe from all the evil in the world? the answer is God. he is always looking out for you and wanting you to believe in him and follow him. he will always be there for you even when other's let you down. and if you trust him as your personal savior from hell and the one who has the right to tell you how to live, you will go to be with him when you die. God is the one who made you and he loves you even though you mess up. But he doesn't want you to stay messed up, he wants you to become like him. I have learned in my own life that he will give you joy even when life gets really tough and you don't think you're gonna make it. He gives you peace b/c you know that even if something really tragic happens, he's still in control and will make sure everything works out. the biggest proof of God is that he changes people's lives. an acoholic will no longer drink after becoming a Christian, a prostitute will no longer sell herself, a druggie will stop taking them, an angry person will become gentle, a liar will become truthful. When you see the difference in someone's life, you will be able to tell that they are a Christian and God is in their life.

Well, I think they are mad out of hurt. It is hurtful when a parent finds out that their children do not believe in what they do.

I do not think anyone on here can help you believe in Him in any way other than to pray for you, which I will. You need to pray to Him and ask Him to open your heart to faith. Can you "see" love? Probably not, but you feel it by what goes on around you. Love it not a thing you hold, it is something you feel. You believe in love and the power it has and the influence it can have. Well, the Bible says that God is love...to know God is to know love. Knowing God exists should not depend on "proof" someone can give you, it should be something you feel in your heart is right....and trust in it more than anything else you know! The Bible says "for by grace are you saved, through faith..." I pray you find your faith!

I wish you love and luck in your search. God bless you :-)
