Did you read the question "If you are an atheist..how did you become one". ? It tells their "stories". Maybe it'll help you understand them better. I'm not "answering my own question"...I'm asking if you read this. Thanks.

Sorry...guess this is a lost cause. Wish they'd make 2 separate sites...one religion and the other atheism. Is atheism a "religion"?

When I am on YA I spend more time in R&S than any other category. I am one of those Atheist. There is a lot of bashing by both Atheist and Xtians as well as others also. No matter where you go on the internet it pays to remember that there are a lot of nuts out there of all walks of life. I try to answer questions as sincerely as I can but also honestly which often offends people of faith. I have not visited YA much lately due to family medical problems

I get disgusted with the Religion and Spirituality category because of all the mean statements made there. As a Christian I am very uncomfortable with those who blatantly attack people of faith. I seldom try to answer a question on R & S but sometimes read things there.

Since you are encouraging me to read that question I will go look at it now.

I spend a lot of time in R&S. I am a Christian, did not see the question on how did you become an atheist. I can't imagine a life without God, Our saints around us usually turn into sinners, but Jesus Christ stayed perfect, all the way to the cross. Hard to imagine not believing in something, I guess you've heard that old saying, you got to believe in something, or you will fall for anything, anything isnot what Jesus wants, he wants people to love and serve him because he first loved us and gave his life for us.

I did not see that one, but I go there on occasion when I feel the need to respond. I do it with the same intention as you.

We have been learning about different faiths in our church and it has been very helpful.
I always remember that the great C.S. Lewis was an atheist for a time....look what happened to him. Wow. What a great story.
Thanks for the question.

I didn't see it. I've had enough of that section for a while. Everyone is so argumentative and snide to each other. Actually, even when they try to be courteous, I just can't stand the atmosphere. Someone undoubtedly will make a rude comment. I'll see if I can find that question, though, since you asked.

That's is where I used to spend most of my online time. I'm a Christian and looked for opportunities to witness. The nastiness there is awful. Every now and then I'll see a question to which I can respond with love and not a high blood pressure rating, and I do so willingly.

I do go there sometimes, but had not read that question. I think in order to understand each other, we have to find out why people believe what they do. I don't answer questions there often. I only answer if I feel someone is sincere in their question.

Yes once in a blue moon. However there is too much venom in there for me. Some people are just soooo nasty. We all have our beliefs but there is no need to drag one another down just because we are different.

FL girls' got it right.
