I sent a text message to a boy I know and like. It was like "How are you", basically. He ignored it. This was a few hours ago.
Any idea why? Does he not like me?

Some people aren't really big on texting. Often they take several hours to answer or sometimes even a day or two. Also consider: what if he meant to text back but got caught up doing something else and forgot all about it. Don't think much about his lack of response.

maybe he is too busy, or he has not read his text messages yet, or he has a limited amount of texting he is allowed to do, or he could be grounded from his phone, basically all you need to do is wait until you see him again, and say hey, i sent you a text the other day, and go from there, quit assuming, just ask him.

u know dear maybe he's into something at the moment and doesnt realize that he got a text. wait for few more minutes. if he still hasnt respond, the talk to him the nest time u see him. facing hin face to face is a lot better dont u think? =)

well...it could be that he doesnt like you but still it would be mean to not respond anyway =/ with my phone...my ex gf sent me a text tonight at 8 but i didnt get it until 10...sometimes phone services are dumb so there could be a few things...either he didnt notice the text( phone on vibrate or off) he doesnt like you in that way(which wouldnt make sense since all you said was "how are you") or messed up service

He might not have got it , a girl sent me a text one night and I didn't see it for over a week..She thought the same thing your thinking...

Stop over analyzing! It's a waste of time.
Try talking to him tomrrow.. you know.. face to face..
VERBALLY.
It's a lot more effcient and don't go asking him "why didn't you respond to my text last night!" that comes off a little bit obessive.

I really can't tell you why he doesn't answer your text message. Probably because he likes someone else. I would move on to someone else.

he's a jerk, call him next time, or wait tell tomorrow maybe he didnt get the text. ask him the next time u see him why he didnt text u back, put him on the spot.

ummm... i think you should give him a little while longer... maybe he doesn't have his phone with him or it died or mayber he misplaced it somewhere. he could have been doing something else.... Maybe you should try and call him or talk to him in person... that always means more to the person if you are talking face to face...

There may be some other reasons. Don't worry too much!! I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt your feelings on purpose.
