I'm not an expert, but I think some fats are harder to digest than say, simple sugars. If they take longer to digest, you're going to feel full longer.

No, complex carbs are the ones you want to eat! Those are the good ones. It's the simple carbs you need to watch out for! Fat takes longer to digest and gives a sense of satiety (satisfaction) more so than sugar or other simple carbs.. protein has a similar effect..
