I want to become a pilot. I know I wont be able to fly any of the jets because I have a bad eye-sight. How else would the air-force help me in suceeding my goal. Any recommendations of what else i should do instead of going to the air force, if in case joining the air force wont be any help?

I needed glasses and joined the Navy flight program as an NFO. Sorry but I don't know anything that can be done about the eyesight. Some of the NFO's in the navy in specific planes were allowed to fly them at times like on long anti-submarine missions.

Well, the US Air Force now allows pilot candiates, to have had PRK or Lasik eye surgery.

That started in May 2007.

So, get your eyes fixed, get a college degree and apply for OCS and flight school.

I'd try a civilian airliner if I flying was truly your ambition, I believe they'd allow you with glasses, however that may not fulfill the romance you are seeking from flying jets in the air force.

if you go active duty, the air force will pay for you to get PRK surgery (a lot like lasik) which last time i checked, was the only kind of corrective surgery that you can have to fly. you can try talking to a recruiter, but your best bet is to find someone that works in that field and talk to them. recruiters are a lot of help but VERY OFTEN times leave out VERY IMPORTANT details.

The reserves will take you. you're on the breaking point of the age cutoff for a reservist, bypass consult with a recruiter as quickly as you are able to. no longer something on your historic past shows they gained't. lively accountability has limits on what number dependents you've got and you will't be a single parent, reserves does no longer have those limits.

If you join the military, you can get corrective eye surgery. I think people who have had corrective surgery can fly, but not fighter jets. You basically wouldn't be able to fly in battle, because they don't know how many g-forces the corrected eye can withstand.
