I don't know about the Catholic church's views on salvation. I only know what the Bible says on it. Being good does not take you to Heaven, only by believing and trusting in Jesus alone does. We are not saved by our works, read Ephesians 2:8-9 for we are saved by grace through faith. I can only hope all Christians are truly saved or they will go to Hell when they die. Only I can know that I am saved, that is between me and the Lord, same with Catholics, Methodists, etc.

I will have to tell you that I did a two year study on Catholicism as my daughter was engaged to a Catholic man.
At first, I was just amazed as you are when I read many, many things which were so foreign and not scripturally based! Then, I attended mass with my soon to be son-in-law.
I was amazed at how many people I felt so comfortable around! I went the next mass and the following Sunday, I was asked if I would like to teaach a woman's Bible study! Now, let me inform you that my Dad was a Baptist minister and pastor, until he died when I was 16! So, I prayed about this and I felt very led to teach.
This led to my teaching for eight years, I wrote many Biblical plays and the entire church performed them! God did a work in that church and I learned as much as they did! You see, no matter how who choose to worship, the ONE TRUE GOD, when you mention the NAME of JESUS....things happen!
I never once tried to put myself out there to minister in anyway. God did! It was amazing what God did and noone stood against His moving, in this church.
In all the time I spent with the Catholic people, I met many who knew the Lord and had a prayer life that was admirable! I also met those who just went through the motions! But, do we not have people like this in every religion?
You see, religion is how we choose to worship! Christianity, is our walk and relationship with the Lord!

Catholic beliefs and practices are the same ones that Jesus taught to the apostles, and that the Holy Spirit reinforced on Pentecost.
If you're "shocked" by some of them, it's because your own personal beliefs are the product of the false traditions of late day protestant "reformers" who wouldn't or couldn't accept the authentic truth.
And for the record, "Catholic" means "universal".
Better keep studying. You don't have it quite right, yet.
Try the official Catechism:

I think that you have illustrated that you have isunderstandings of many Catholic beliefs and teachings. Probably because of a misunderstanding of Scriptures as well.
Catholics share in a fullness of God's grace and a fullness of faith and practice that encourages them in the race to final salvation. They are helped and encouraged by the entire Communion of Saints known as the Church militant, suffering and triumphant.
In Christ
Fr. Joseph
Jesus M,
Everything you said is not true. What does the Bible say about bearing false witness against others? How do you think Christ feels about you or others bearing false witness against His Church? Have you read that every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess? Will you repent or depend on his mercy because of your ignorance of Christ's Church and Biblical teaching.

Yes, many Roman Catholics are saved. I'm certain of that. Remember, it's not about who has the most knowledge of scripture that counts, it's your Faith in Christ and for goodness sakes how you love God and others. "by the measure you use it will be measured to you."
Many Catholics have absolute Faith in Christ as their Savior. I agree that perhaps some things in the Catholic Church are superstitious. However, I assure you nobody has perfect knowledge of God.
Here check out this website: http://www.john-michael-talbot.org/
John Michael Talbot is an amazing man of Faith and an exemplary Christian. And he is very much Catholic.

Assuming Jesus was the Messiah, he Promised that the kingdom of hades would not prevail against the Church.
From about 150AD to 1550AD, the Roman Catholic church was effectively it.
1400 years.
If the RCC wasn't the Church of Christ, the Kingdom of Hades sure did win a big victory.

the Catholic Church is the only which was founded by Jesus Christ.. since God is love.. he should love the people from the religion... God is Universal.. and Mary was without sin because she brought jesus christ to the life... but Jesus Christ is God Himself... all the catholic doctrines are in the Bible.. and the tradition is together with the Bible.. the tradition is history of the first apostles... ect.. the Last Supper the Lord said.. repeat this until I come back

The salvation is trough believing in what Christ has performed on the pass, and accepting His sacrifice with faith and by utilising the grace of God, like others have already pronounced right here. for this reason, some Catholics could pass to heaven, even nonetheless they have fake doctrines. even nonetheless it would be extra useful for them to have confidence in the Bible and not in custom. actual: maximum evangelicals have confidence others could pass to heaven (case in point, no matter in the event that they're baptists, pentecostals, lutherans, etc. as long as they think the fundamentals, yet variety on some doctrines), yet CATHOLICS think of that "outdoors the Catholic Church there is not any salvation".

Well you have to separate the institutuion from the parishioners in the institution.
I do not know enough about the Catholic doctrine to argue doctrine, but I know that plenty of Catholics are and will be saved because they have taken the Lord Jesus as their personal savior and let Him live in their heart.

I wondered the same thing so I asked my pastor this question. He said that some Catholics are saved. I think he is right. Perhaps there are a few Catholics who put all of their trust for salvation in Jesus, hopefully. (Not in a church or a priest or their good works or Mary or Saints or baptism.)
